The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Communications &amp; Public Relations Officer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The Communications &amp; Public Relations Officer is responsible for building a positive relationship with all stakeholders through communications. The Communications Officer\u2019s position facilitates the communications actions identified in the communications strategy of the mine; Crisis communication and media relations is an integral part of the role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define, monitor and report on the communication and public relations programs within schedule and budget to implement site communications strategy<\/li>\n<li>Create a matrix of internal key stakeholders in order to ensure success of the role, and develop appropriate relationships where pertinent<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain a strong internal and external communications network<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the dissemination and sharing of divisional information<\/li>\n<li>Monitor media and provide the Sustainability team with relevant information from within the local, regional and national space.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Sustainability Manager to develop communication plans, policies and procedures to support the mine\u2019s communication goals.<\/li>\n<li>Draft speeches and reports<\/li>\n<li>Assist in building content for publication in the AGA newsletter (Dawuro) every quarter and production of features for publication in the print and electronic media.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the organisation of Quarterly Communication sessions with HR Department.<\/li>\n<li>Plan and coordinate events and functions.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support for press conferences and media meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the liaison between the company and media outlets<\/li>\n<li>Plan and coordinate events and functions.<\/li>\n<li>Document all company activities through photography and videography<\/li>\n<li>Assist in building content and running of sustainability intranet site<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the development and coordination of a coherent monitoring, evaluation and learning system for Sustainability related information<\/li>\n<li>Conduct media analysis, research and preparation of responses<\/li>\n<li>Develop relationships with media houses and provide them with suggested articles for publication<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with public relations outfits in municipal and district assemblies within the concession.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate a collaborative relationship with communication consultant, Stratcomm to deliver on organisational communication goals<\/li>\n<li>Collate, document and store all information on CCC meetings<\/li>\n<li>Collate, document and store all land access and compensation processes and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an up to date data base for networking purposes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism or information Management.<\/li>\n<li>Preferably a Master\u2019s Degree in Mass Communication\u00a0 or Development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 3 years relevant experience in managing public relations and communication in a similar organizational setting.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated capacity to undertake media buying and engagement brand activation<\/li>\n<li>Appreciation of cultures and approaches to participatory methodology.<\/li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of communications tools and its application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good Understanding of and ability to use communication and IT tools.<\/li>\n<li>Strong public speaking abilities.<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in both English language and Asante Twi<\/li>\n<li>Internet Savvy.<\/li>\n<li>Appreciation of the use of ICT tools and models.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use Microsoft access and publishing software.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Leadership Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to provide peer to peer leadership and handle confidential community issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested Ghanaians with the above qualification and experience should submit their applications, with detailed CV.<\/p>\n<p>Please note \u2013 only candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLOSING DATE: 7TH\u00a0NOVEMBER 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
