UNESCO is seeking to recruit an Associate National Project Officer.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Associate National Project Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Duties and Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Under the overall authority of the assistant director general for educational, general supervision of the director of the UNESCOO Office in Accra, direct supervision of the Head of the Education Sector and the guidance of the Regional Health Education, adviser, the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of UNESCO\u2019s work on education for health and welbeing
\n\u2022 Specifically, s\/he will be responsible for providing technical expertise on key themes including comprehensive sexuality education (CSE), school-related gender-based violence (SR GBV), early and unitended pregnancy (EUP) and HIV.<\/p>\n

Strategy and policy development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Identifying opportunities for UNESCO engagement in policy development and programming on HIV, CSE and other issues within the framework of the UNESCO strategy on Education for health and Wellbeing, national health strategies, and the UNAIDS division of labour
\n\u2022 Facilitating a process of strategic planning within UNESCO for engagement in these opportunities<\/p>\n

Representation and partner relations<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Representing UNESCO in appropriate coordination forums, such as the joint UN teams on AIDS, inter-agency meetings, local education groups and thematic meetings
\n\u2022 Developing and maintaining partner relations with the Ministry of Education, the UNESCO National Commission, national bodies and development partners, including civil society organisations. Providing technical guidance for further development of their capacities and activities
\n\u2022 Liaising with UNESCO structures, including the Regional Health Education team for West and Central Africa, Section on Health and education at UNESCO Headquarters and colleagues in the country office and sub-region working on health education<\/p>\n

Resource Mobilisation<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Supporting resource mobilisation efforts including proposal development from UNESCO and partners and provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Education in accessing funding for the education sector response to HIV, EUP, SR GBV and other health issues<\/p>\n

Technical Support<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Support UNESCO programming in collaboration with other staff working on education for health and wellbeing, with particular emphasis on interventions supporting national efforts toward HIV prevention, scaling up CSE and responding to SR GBV and EUP
\n\u2022 supporting timely programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting on UNESCO\u2019s work on education for health and wellbeing
\n\u2022 Facilitating the provision of technical support to the Ministry of Education and other national partners
\n\u2022 Supporting capacity building interventions within the education sector to develop comprehensive action on education for health and wellbeing and to contribute to national responses
\n\u2022 Contributing to advocacy efforts at country level, in order to advance use of the evidence and strengthen joint UN and national responses to HIV and AIDS, SRGBV and EUP<\/p>\n

Qualification Required & Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 An advanced university degree (Master\u2019s or equivalent) in a relevant field, especially education, social sciences or public health
\n\u2022 At least 4 years of relevant work experience, in areas related to sexual and reproductive health and education<\/p>\n

Skills and Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 A track record in resource mobilisation and monitoring and evaluation
\n\u2022 A track record in project and programme implementation in partnership with govenmental partners and civil society and an ability to manage budgets and reports on impplementation
\n\u2022 Strong understanding of the country of the development work and of the education sector
\n\u2022 Extensive knowledge of and high level of technical writing skills on, HIV prevention CSE, SRGBV and UNESCO\u2019s strategy on education for health and wellbeing
\n\u2022 Credibility and confidence, with networking and high level representational and partnership building skills, involving a wide range of partners (including relevant ministries, UNAIDS Cosponsors, donors and civil society)
\n\u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy
\n\u2022 Ability to multitask, prioritise and deliver to deadline, as well as work under pressure<\/p>\n

Languages<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Full working proficiency, oral and written, in English, writing and communication skills in French is an asset<\/p>\n
