PEG\u2019s anchor product \u2013 a basic solar home system that includes three lights, a phone charger and a radio \u2013 allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">To date, PEG has over $20 million and has 200 full time staff across Ghana and Ivory Coast. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">Ashden International Award<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0for excellence in sustainable energy, and has been named as one of the \u201cfastest growing companies in Africa\u201d by the London Stock Exchange.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0GIS Spatial Senior Analyst<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">The Position<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>In this role, you will be a part of the Data and Reporting team, and provide technical support to carry out geo spatial mapping of PEG Africa\u2019s existing (Senegal, Ghana and Cote d\u2019ivoire) and upcoming markets. Your main role would be to integrate and maintain the work done by outside agency in PEG\u2019s Business-as-usual processes. This includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review, evaluate, and verify mapping data provided by outside agencies or private sector contractors for accuracy and consistency. Provide regular support to troubleshooting and constant upgrade of data, reports and applications. \u00a0Maintain complex geographic datasets developed and perform updates and edits as required.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with training application users. Troubleshoot application issues with users and work with technical resources for issue resolution. Analyze workflows and identify and recommend improvements. Independently evaluate and develop scripts that automate data capture, processing and visualization.<\/li>\n<li>Create and then research and test the accuracy and quality of new geospatial data sources for inclusion in the existing monitoring web platform and ad hoc geospatial analysis products.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct additional \u00a0geospatial analysis (raster and vector) in support of existing monitoring developed. Translate analysis results to reports, slides and developer workflows; Analyze all process flow and document all recommendations and solutions and maintain knowledge of requirements for business applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This job is well suited to analytical thinkers who enjoy statistics and numerical data, have strong communication skills, and work well as part of a team.Provide mentorship and guidance to the junior team members.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Requirements<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">3-5 years\u2019 experience in a GIS spatial\/ GIS experience as an analyst<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bachelor Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer science, software engineering or related field<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Proficiency in ArcGIS \/ QGIS or GRASS. GDAL is a plus<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Familiar with SDM (Spatial Data Management) policies and principles. Knowledge of CAD(computer aided design) is a plus<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Experience with data gathering, \u00a0processing and visualization languages \/ software such as SQL, Ruby\/Python, tableau is a plus, Code management with Git\/GitHub is a plus.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of the technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ability to learn new technologies quickly and mentor junior team members.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Competencies<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Strong Communication Proficiency &amp; Proactiveness.
