of Hope Foundation Recruitment 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beacon of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization with a passion to positively transform children and youth lives through the implementation of lasting solutions strengthened by effective partnerships between communities, non-governmental organizations and governments in sub Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n<p>We are dedicated to eradicating child labor by first educating identified poor parents on the importance of basic education, providing them with some skills and support where needed, and thereafter, sending their children (between 7 \u2013 14 years) back to school, and ensuring they stay to at least the Senior High School.<\/p>\n<p>Our Women Empowerment Program, with two arms, the Early Childhood Program and the Shelter Program provides vulnerable, young and homeless and single pregnant women with prenatal support like shelter, food and clothes for themselves and other forms of support when their babies are born.\u00a0 It also provides poor and needy single mothers with skills and knowledge in homemaking (catering, sewing, etc.) activities.\u00a0 These women are provided with tools and other pertinent support, like access to financial entities, to enable them establishes and grow their businesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Business Development Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As part of our goal to eradicate streetism and support the homeless, poor and unprofessional youth to develop professional skills to enable them establish businesses or for improved employment opportunities for a brighter future, we have developed a Youth Empowerment Program.\u00a0 This program will select homeless street youth and give them training in the building industry, vehicle repair industry and home care industry.\u00a0 Trained youth will have tools and finances to establish their own businesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create and execute a fundraising strategy for soliciting materials and funds.<\/li>\n<li>Create a balanced and sustainable funding mix of various donor sources.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure donors are recognized and their in-kind donations and monies are used as\u00a0 \u00a0 requested.<\/li>\n<li>Write and submit solicitation letters, as well as thank you letters.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange meetings with potential in-country funders and donors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Science, Business Administration, Social Work, Development Studies or other related field.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in fundraising is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum 2-5 years\u2019 experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience of managing empowering partnerships and other relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Experience of developing proposals and coordinating ideas for managing donor relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Ghanaian culture, traditions and laws regarding the treatment of children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Qualities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment to BOHF mission and values.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to take initiative.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting on all advocacy and campaign outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Produce knowledge management materials including child-led advocacy or community change projects, campaign fundraising and BOHF image branding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p
