CHF is a politically neutral, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, that prides itself on an approach which is accountable, efficient and effective.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n SLUM COMMUNITIES ACHIEVING LIVABLE ENVIRONMENTS THROUGH URBAN PARTNERS (SCALE UP) PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n TERMS OF REFERENCE 1.\u00a0INTRODUCTION<\/strong> The SCALE-UP Program has four principal objectives: The program focuses on building the capacity of local NGOs to identify and implement projects in slum communities that result in increased income and assets and improved living environments for slum community residents and operates in the following urban informal settlements:<\/p>\n One of the key activities of the Scale up project is to promote sustainable microfinance products and services for the provision of water and sanitation facilities. With this objective in mind, CHF Ghana is seeking a Consultant to assess the various options available in designing and scaling up the use of microfinance for the provision of water and sanitation facilities. \n<\/strong><\/span> ASSESSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE SCALING UP OF MICROFINANCE FOR WATER AND SANITATION<\/p>\n
\nCHF International has been awarded a three-year grant to implement the Slum Communities Achieving Livable Environments with Urban Partners (SCALE-UP) program. The program will provide targeted capacity building to local intermediaries (NGOs and others) to implement slum upgrading interventions in collaboration with community-based organization(CBOs) and municipal authorities in two cities(Accra and Sekondi-Takoradi).<\/p>\n

\n2.\u00a0OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSESSMENT<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe Consultant will be required to assess the potential market for microfinance in the water and sanitation sector and to identify specific opportunities for potential support by microfinance institutions and the project.<\/p>\n\n

\n<\/strong>Consultants or firms interested in the assessment should please submit a proposal to include the following;<\/p>\n\n
\nCHF will work closely with the Consultant. Therefore upon signing of the contract, the Consultant will discuss and agree on a work plan with CHF International. All correspondence and reports should be addressed to Ishmael Adams, CHF International \/ Ghana.<\/p>\n
\nThe contract sum will be divided into categories relating to the deliverables to be agreed by the two parties (first advance not to exceed 24% of contract value).<\/p>\n
