The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: TECHNICAL WRITER \u2013 TECHNICAL SERVICES.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The Technical Writer is accountable to produce documentation allowing monitoring and control of construction and output of Processing Plant, surface and UG infrastructure new build\/refurbishment and that it is to standard, through the application of operational engineering policies, standards, processes and procedures to maximise plant availability in a sustainable cost-effective manner and minimize operational risks in order to meet the business\u2019 strategic objective.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong>Safety<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Work according to total quality management principles &amp; ensure zero defect objectives &amp; safety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Environment<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Adhere to site\u2019s Environmental Management Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\u00a0<strong>People<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Gather information for the Engineering Technical Specialist for reporting performance<\/li>\n<li>Gather approval for commencing document production from Engineering Technical Specialist<\/li>\n<li>Obtain approval prior to distribution of produced documentation from Engineering Technical Specialist<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Work<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Produce documentation to standard, through the application of operational engineering policies, standards, processes and procedures, in accordance with AGA and AGAG guidelines\/instructions.<\/li>\n<li>Produce standard documents as tenders, scopes and contracts for new build and refurbishment work packages.<\/li>\n<li>Produce documentation allowing monitoring and control of construction and output of Processing Plant, surface and UG infrastructure new build\/refurbishment produce standard documents as tenders, scopes and contracts for future regular maintenance work packages.<\/li>\n<li>Actively participate in refurbishment\/maintenance review programmers and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of equipment as per requirements to permit continuous improvement of documents produced.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\u00a0<strong>Cost:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives.<\/li>\n<li>Propose cost savings projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Time<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Execute work in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Risk Management<\/li>\n<li>Incorporate monitored equipment performance on asset health system to permit the inclusion of proactive measures in documentation to address symptoms of potential failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Reporting<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Report directly to the Engineering Technical Specialist on issues and identify and execute improvement projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Masters\u2019 Degree in Management will be an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Financial, commercial and project management through work experience and courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An experienced Engineer with 5+ years\u2019 experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in mining or metallurgical plant<\/li>\n<li>Experience in management of Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC).<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Project Management<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of SAP PM module<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Technical Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong Technical Writing experience in mining and\/or extractive metallurgy environment<\/li>\n<li>Sound project management skills<\/li>\n<li>Should have analytical skills to be able to evaluate information and solve complex problems.<\/li>\n<li>Detail oriented to understand complex systems, and recognition that a minor error can cause major problems.<\/li>\n<li>Commercially astute and able to work effectively with third parties.<\/li>\n<li>Legally astute with respect to project delivery and maintenance systems<\/li>\n<li>Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build and sustain a team of subordinates capable of producing those outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Continuously improve the processes used by the team in delivering outputs;<\/li>\n<li>Model work behaviors for your subordinates,<\/li>\n<li>Consistent with the company values<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to initiate and drive the construction project through its life cycle.<\/li>\n<li>To support and motivate the construction project team to deliver the project goals.<\/li>\n<li>Finding innovative solutions through creative thinking and problem solving.<\/li>\n<li>Create an environment of teamwork and willingness to help coworkers<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with different kinds of people<\/li>\n<li>Organizational skills to keep track of many workers, schedules, and budgets all at once.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
