Job Title:\u00a0Research Assistant \u2013 Agronomy\/Horticulture<\/strong><\/p>\n

IITA hosts The World Vegetable Center (WorldVeg, formerly, AVRDC) which is a nonprofit, autonomous international agricultural research center with headquarters in Taiwan and regional offices around the globe. WorldVeg conducts research and development programs that contribute to improved incomes and diets in the developing world through increased production and consumption of nutritious and health-promoting vegetables. WorldVeg\u2019s Regional Office for West and Central (WCA) \u2013 Coastal and Humid Regions based in Cotonou, Benin Republic (with focus countries: Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria among others) conducts vegetable research and development and provides training and information services with the goal of improving nutrition and livelihoods among small-scale farmers and consumers in West and Central Africa.<\/p>\n

Based on the World Vegetable Center\u2019s new strategy for 2017 \u2013 2025, the Center is expanding its work in Sub-Saharan Africa to increase vegetable production, household income and consumption with a focus in urban and peri-urban production systems in cocoa based systems along the coastal and humid regions of West and Central Africa.
