(URC), in collaboration with the Malaria Consortium and Population Council. The project aims to reduce malaria morbidty and mortality nationwide with a focus on children under 5 and pregnant women. The programme provides support to the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) of Ghana<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Assignment Length:<\/strong> Eight months renewable by mutual agreement and availability of funds<br \/>\n<strong>Starting Salary: <\/strong>Depending on qualification and experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Functional relationships:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Works under the direction and supervision of the Finance manager<\/li>\n<li>Works closely with\u00a0other members of the Finance &amp; Administrative staff<\/li>\n<li>Collaborates\u00a0and\u00a0responds to requests from\u00a0other members of the URC Ghana team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Accounting Clerk will, under the direction and with the assistance of the Finance\u00a0Manager, review and process expense\u00a0reports, collate accounting documentation, process receipts and bank deposits,\u00a0and file\u00a0accounting paperwork<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Financial duties<\/li>\n<li>The Accounting Clerk, under direction of the Finance Manager, will review and and process travel expense report statements in a timely and accurate manner<\/li>\n<li>The accounting Clerk will prepare accounting documentation\u00a0according to USAID and URC rules and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Finance Manager to prepare monthly fields vouchers that are part of the monthly financial reports<\/li>\n<li>He\/She will manage bank deposits and collection of bank statements and receipts from vendors<\/li>\n<li>Manage the issuance of checks and travel advance request and payments<\/li>\n<li>Assist the Finance Manager in any other official tasks that may be assigned from time-to-time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formal training in accounting desirable<\/li>\n<li>1-2 years experience in accounting spreadsheets, USAID programmes<\/li>\n<li>Excellent teamwork skills and good leadership abilities<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)<\/li>\n<li>Fluent written and spoken English<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and manage multiple tasks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>If you are qualified and interested in these position, please send a cover letter with your resume, including all contact details and e-mail address where applicable to:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:applications@urc-chs.com\">applications@urc-chs.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closing 21st May, 2011<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Background: ProMPT is a project funded by the United States Government&#8217;s President&#8217;s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and manages by University Research Co.
