\nLocation:<\/strong>\u00a0Northern Ghana. Specifically; North Gonja, East Gonja, West Gonja, Tolon, Kumbungu& Tamale Metro
\nRestrictions:<\/strong>\u00a01-year time specified contract (possibility of extension). Must have a legal right to live and work in Ghana.
\nReports to:<\/strong>\u00a0Programs Manager or an Assigned Superior
\nAccountable to:<\/strong>\u00a0Chief Executive Officer
\nExpected travel:<\/strong>\u00a0Significant travel throughout your operational area. (85%) \u2013 and also to central training locations (15%)<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Participate in training opportunities provided by the organisation.
\n\u2022 Create awareness and sensitise farmers on VSLA as a means for self-financing of agriculture activities.
\n\u2022 Establish VSLAs in the project operational districts.
\n\u2022 Promote crop insurance and subscribe farmers in the VSLAs to the policy.
\n\u2022 Engage in periodic team meetings to discuss progress.
\n\u2022 Maintain records of all events, minutes of meetings held and ensure these are shared your assigned superior.
\n\u2022 Participate in the review of data collected from the field and in any planned assessments and reviews for the programme.
\n\u2022 Lead in managing and resolving day-to-day project related challenges or issues affecting farmers.
\n\u2022 Conduct sessions on livelihood related activities with farmers.
\n\u2022 Undertake extension services for community based farmers.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Experience in mobilising communities, community leaders and young people to participate in programmes.
\n\u2022 Experience working with farmers living in rural \/ urban areas.
\n\u2022 Strong facilitation skills
\n\u2022 Good report writing skills
\n\u2022 Knowledge and familiarity with data collection tools and techniques
\n\u2022 Preparedness to work in a rural setting
\n\u2022 Strong problem solving skills appropriate for farmers
\n\u2022 Computer literacy; (word, excel, power point)
\n\u2022 Ability to motivate, support, or work with a team
\n\u2022 An ability to plan\/schedule work activities independently, with minimum supervision.<\/p>\n
