Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare<\/strong> exists to promote sustainable employment opportunities, management and vocational skills development, training and re-training, harmonious industrial relations, safe and group formation and social integration of vulnerable, excluded and the disadvantaged for the development and growth of the economy.<\/p>\n

Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare (MESW) is implementing a Government of Ghana national initiative to eliminate the worst forms of child labour in the cocoa sector through the National Programme for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Cocoa (NPECLC):<\/p>\n

Coordinate and monitor field and remediation activities leading to the elimination of child labour in cocoa growing communities
\nSupervise and monitor sub-project agreements and action plans of District Assemblies, NGOs, CBOs and partner organizations within the framework of the National Programme
\nCoordinate the development and implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programmes in cocoa production processes involving children
\nCoordinate the development and implementation of interventions that emphasize education and vocational training
\nPropose and implement labour saving technologies leading to elimination of child labour in cocoa production
\nSupport and strengthen district and community Child Protection Communities
\nPrepare relevant periodic, financial and technical reports
\nAny other duties assigned<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

A minimum of first degree in Social\/Behavioural Sciences or Social Work
\nA master’s degree will be an advantage
\nA minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience
\nAbility to travel to cocoa growing areas on a regular basis
\nFluency in at least one local language spoken in cocoa growing areas in Ghana
\nExperience in working directly with communities
\nProven project Planning and Management skills, including ability to prepare Reports and Proposals
\nGood interpersonal and Communication skills, including usage of Computer application programmes
\nAbility to work with minimum supervision
\nAbility to work long hours and manage work pressure<\/p>\n
