In particular, FOCOS seeks to enhance access to optimal surgical and non-surgical care for patients with disabling musculoskeletal disorders including complex spine deformities and pediatric orthopaedic problems in underserved regions. It began as a dream of the founder to see the best care reach the underserved in his native country, Ghana and the sub-Saharan region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Medical Officers<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides out-patients care and refer appropriately outside area of specialty<\/li>\n<li>Participates as a member of the Medical Team in providing care, monitoring and evaluation of patients on admission<\/li>\n<li>Prepares doctors notes as well as discharge notes<\/li>\n<li>Provides weekend coverage as per approved schedule<\/li>\n<li>Assists with clearing of patients for travel<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with relevant departments in ensuring optimum care to clients\/patients<\/li>\n<li>Participates in quality improvement programs and or activities.<\/li>\n<li>Assists perform surgical operations\/clinical procedures within identified competency<\/li>\n<li>Provides support and information to patients\/relatives as and when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Conducts\/participates in:\n<ul>\n<li>Ward Rounds<\/li>\n<li>Clinical meetings<\/li>\n<li>Morbidity\/mortality meetings<\/li>\n<li>Clinico -Pathological conferences<\/li>\n<li>Journals\u2019 clubs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Participates in district and community health programs as and when required<\/li>\n<li>Conducts\/participates in operational research<\/li>\n<li>Be actively involved in the issues of infection prevention and control.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures compliance with the hospital and departmental policies and procedures by team members.<\/li>\n<li>Performs any other duty that may be assigned by management from time to time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>MB ChB\/BDS or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years post housemanship<\/li>\n<li>A valid License to practice in Ghana<\/li>\n<li>Continuous Professional Training across a wide range of clinical issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Technical\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good practice in Outpatient and inpatient care.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of health and safety relevant to this post.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in spinal care is an advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Basic surgical skills<\/li>\n<li>Supervisory skills<\/li>\n<li>Advanced life support\/resuscitation skills<\/li>\n<li>Report writing and presentation skill<\/li>\n<li>Analytical and problem solving skill<\/li>\n<li>Ability to initiate and maintain clear, concise documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"how-to-apply\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interested Applicants should email their CV\u2019s to\u00a0<strong>hr@focosgh.com<\/strong>\u00a0with the job title clearly stated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Deadline: 31st March 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FOCOS mission is to provide comprehensive, affordable orthopaedic care to those who would not otherwise have access to such treatment.
