The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Accounts Officer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The purpose of this role is to provide direct output support to the Superintendent: Payable &amp; Receivable and assist in the accounts payable functions which includes creditors\u2019 payments, bullion shipment &amp; accounting, creditors and debtors\u2019 management.<br \/>\nThe role also ensures all tax related statutory reports such as VAT, PAYE, royalties and WHT taxes are compiled and filed requirements.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Process invoices (both Local &amp; Foreign) and generate remittance and cheques.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that invoices, which attract VAT and Withholding tax, are properly accounted for.<\/li>\n<li>Produce Reconciliation of local supplier\u2019s statements<\/li>\n<li>Produce a reconciliation of Local advance payment account.<\/li>\n<li>Produce a reconciliation of all foreign payments All currencies<\/li>\n<li>Set invoices due for payment on the E-Banking<\/li>\n<li>Generate Daily bank statements for Reconciliation<\/li>\n<li>Process the payments approved by the Signatories.<\/li>\n<li>Provide information on payment effected as per E-Banking records.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare weekly dollar cash flow<\/li>\n<li>Respond to supplier\u2019s queries and document the types of queries to enable the manager to identify opportunities to improve the services.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise processing of foreign payments and report any issue regarding foreign payments to the manager.<\/li>\n<li>Send out supplier\u2019s circularization for statements and co-ordinate reconciliation.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare VAT and Tema Ports tax returns.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares cedi cash flows.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise preparation and printing of local (cedi) cheques to ensure that the process as described by the manager is completed to the required standard. Raising any concerns regarding non-compliance to the manager.<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile Goods in Transit (GIT) against General Ledger (G\/L) Accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise the reconciliation of local supplier\u2019s statements and reports to the manager any inconsistencies or concerns.<\/li>\n<li>Follow the procedure to make sure that all bullion transactions are appropriately accounted for in the Accounting system and reconciled.<\/li>\n<li>Raise debit notes for customers and collect overdue receivables.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that customers settle their debt on time and report to the manager regarding those customers where problems exist.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the preparation of timely withholding tax schedule to facilitate payment to Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and elevate any concerns that may cause late payment<\/li>\n<li>Reconcile all accounts receivables and other accounts, over 20 accounts in all.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and compile Debtors Ageing analysis for the attention of direct report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree in Accounting, HND (Accounting option) or ICAG Part 2 qualification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 2 \u2013 3 years\u2019 experience in a mining environment.<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate with significant proficiency in Spreadsheets<\/li>\n<li>Experience and understanding of total mining cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Broad business exposure<\/li>\n<li>Cash flow management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sound understanding of Obuasi Mine\u2019s value drivers<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to make effective and timely decisions, by quickly assembling the facts and developing action plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested Ghanaians with the above qualification and experience should submit their applications, with detailed CV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLOSING DATE:\u00a012TH MARCH, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
