The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: SENIOR GEOLOGIST \u2013 EXPLORATION<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The purpose of the Senior Geologist \u2013 Exploration is to Develop, implement and supervise the cost-effective exploration work programmes in support of the weekly, monthly, and quarterly site plans at Obuasi.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Establish the necessary Exploration processes and practices for the redevelopment of the Obuasi Mine, including Operational Readiness<\/li>\n<li>Provide unequivocal geological exploration planning data to enable the quarterly updates of the rolling 18-month plan to be produced on time.<\/li>\n<li>Develop the annual Exploration cost centre budget to achieve the required targets for achieving annual, medium term and LoM business plans<\/li>\n<li>Deliver the work of the Exploration function within approved budget targets and specified timeframes, costs and related KPIs<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate Safety Leadership and improve the Culture across the Geology department and with own team regarding Safety, Health, Environmental and Sustainable Development<\/li>\n<li>Provide the resources and expertise to develop the team to capably and consistently deliver the annual budget, according to their role and level of authority<\/li>\n<li>Rigorously drive implementation of projects and nurture and sustain a culture of Accountability and Continuous Improvement within team<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain constructive relationships with Internal Stakeholders (Corporate, Group Planning &amp; Technical, sister mines, etc.) and external Stakeholders (Regulatory Agencies and Authorities, Minerals Commission) to establish existing and changing societal and regulatory expectations and requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>BSc or an MSc in Geology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 years exploration geology experience in relevant gold deposits.<\/li>\n<li>Previous supervisory experience.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in developing and implementing exploration programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Understanding of Safety Leadership is required;<\/li>\n<li>Basic Application of Applied Geological Methods is required.<\/li>\n<li>Basic Application of Geological Methods is required.<\/li>\n<li>Mine Geology Methods\n<ul>\n<li>Plan (BA)<\/li>\n<li>Mining and Plant (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Ore loss and dilution (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Grade Control (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Ore Accounting (BU)<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical and Geohydrological (BU)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Basic Understanding of most items in Estimation Methods is required.\n<ul>\n<li>Basic Application of the following is required:<\/li>\n<li>Exploration Methods<\/li>\n<li>Operational Management<\/li>\n<li>Business Planning<\/li>\n<li>Operational Excellence<\/li>\n<li>Project Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership\u00a0Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating a disciplined team to deliver the planned work to the defined standards.<\/li>\n<li>Managing oneself \u2013 taking ownership of one\u2019s personal development.<\/li>\n<li>Building effective working relationships \u2013 the ability to build and maintain effective collateral and cross functional working relationship;<\/li>\n<li>Building trust &amp; accountability \u2013 displaying high levels of integrity and honesty;<\/li>\n<li>Maximizing performance &amp; achievement of results \u2013 solving problems and analyzing issues, driving for results,<\/li>\n<li>Displaying technical and professional expertise, in the delivery of the current and near-term exploration plans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested Ghanaians with the above qualification and experience should submit their applications, with detailed CV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLOSING DATE:\u00a018TH MARCH, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
