{"id":37575,"date":"2019-03-13T21:06:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-13T21:06:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=37575"},"modified":"2019-03-13T21:06:15","modified_gmt":"2019-03-13T21:06:15","slug":"golder-associates-jobs-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/golder-associates-jobs-2019.html","title":{"rendered":"Golder Associates Jobs 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Golder Associates is seeking for a\u00a0<strong>Senior<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Rock Engineer<\/strong>\u00a0with the ability to integrate management and outstanding technical aptitude taking control of all projects from inception to a successful result.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Senior\u00a0Rock Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES\/DUTIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working predominately on projects concerned with rock mechanics, including support and mine design.<\/li>\n<li>Open pit mine investigation and design experience.<\/li>\n<li>Collation and analysis of geotechnical data,<\/li>\n<li>Open pit mine design,<\/li>\n<li>Geotechnical report writing,<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical expertise on mining projects concerned with coal and hard rock engineering, such as strata control and mine design.<\/li>\n<li>Manage consultancy project with in coal and hard rock engineering<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical and project management expertise in the following areas; research, instrumentation, stress measurement, monitoring, numerical modelling, risk management, underground safety audits, design methods, training, and technology transfer.<\/li>\n<li>Developing new business and building upon existing and prospective client relations with in Business Unit.<\/li>\n<li>Developing techniques and methods for solving rock engineering problems with in the mines, often conducting site visits to resolve these issues.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring compliance with HSSE procedures and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Management and mentoring of junior and intermediate staff,<\/li>\n<li>Management of drilling contractors,<\/li>\n<li>Develop client relationships that lead to ongoing work,<\/li>\n<li>On site supervisory role for geotechnical investigation projects for open pit mines,<\/li>\n<li>Continued development of key skills in Project Management.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver quality, on time and within budget.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree with in rock mechanic, mining, engineering, engineering geology or geotechnical engineering<\/li>\n<li>Sc. or PhD will be advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Professional Engineer advantageous<\/li>\n<li>Extensive mining experience essential<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10+ years\u2019 experience either as a consultant or working for a mining company in the field of rock engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Open pit mine investigation and \/ or design experience.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of African clients in the mining industry.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in developing site specific geological models.<\/li>\n<li>MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook , MS Projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>COMPETENCIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Is regarded as an expert in a technical discipline area regionally and internationally.<\/li>\n<li>Makes complex decisions with input from partners.<\/li>\n<li>Focus is on projects with significant budgets and complexity, including contract negotiation, identifying strategic needs and provision of technical direction.<\/li>\n<li>Client focus is on maintaining a broad client base and actively pursuing new business opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Displays leadership in technical elements of role, in management of project teams.<\/li>\n<li>Mentors and coach\u2019s junior and intermediate staff with respect to their career growth and professional development.<\/li>\n<li>Proactively raise safety issues to the attention of peers, contractors and visitors and assist in seeking resolution to the issues identified.<\/li>\n<li>Communicates clearly and consistently the importance of health and safety and recognizes those who show the right behaviours..<\/li>\n<li>Is responsible for ensuring delivery of significant project reports or senior review of complex technical reports.<\/li>\n<li>May be leading a technical discipline network.<\/li>\n<li>Set a positive example by identifying and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents.<\/li>\n<li>Displays a \u2018safety first\u2019 focus.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATTRIBUTES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Influential: known as a lead authority in an area of our business.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to delegate: willing and able to \u201clet go\u201d of the project management role.<\/li>\n<li>Strategist: can sense and respond to changes in the market, helps the organisation change and adapt.<\/li>\n<li>Diplomat: skill in diplomacy, able to tactfully address and resolve difficult situations.<\/li>\n<li>Ownership attitude: willing to jump in and sort out higher level issues (rather than wait for someone else).<\/li>\n<li>Strong mentor: actively mentors a number of people in their group or in other groups or offices.<\/li>\n<li>Client focus: introduces intermediate staff to their existing clients, pursues new business opportunities, and seeks new opportunities through regular client contact, positive networking and cross-selling.<\/li>\n<li>Technical excellence: involved in professional committees, expert panels, publications and conference organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Corporate awareness: able to translate global initiatives to the office level, wants to understand what is happening at broader level of organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Leadership: able to involve others in establishing a shared vision of where the team is going, sets an example by aligning behaviours with values.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Golder Associates is seeking for a\u00a0Senior\u00a0Rock Engineer\u00a0with the ability to integrate management and outstanding technical aptitude taking control of all projects from inception to a successful result.
