You will be responsible for managing employee sickness, assisting in the development of health and sickness policy, and carry out pre-employment medical assessments. You will manage the referral of work related cases and follow up with workmen compensation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main roles:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess and prioritise patients presenting at clinic, according to their medical needs<\/li>\n<li>Undertake confidential patient consultations consisting of:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>-History taking,<\/p>\n<p>-Assessment and<\/p>\n<p>-Diagnosis<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administer basic primary care, including the treatment of common illness (se Annex 1) and first aid needs<\/li>\n<li>Refer all work related cases to the relevant care provider and manage the administration of the compensation<\/li>\n<li>Design specific pre-employment and ongoing medical checks for different roles<\/li>\n<li>Conduct medical checks as per agreed timetable and maintain all records<\/li>\n<li>Run health awareness campaigns reaching all employees<\/li>\n<li>Maintain employee health records<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>Participate in the outreach community health activities within the catchment\u2019s area (conducting health awareness talks and campaigns)<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to maternal and child welfare, family planning programmes and health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>education talks within the community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the collection of data when required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Communication and Working Relationships<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain effective communication with colleagues and other professional groups and clients.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in dissemination of information on health programmes to staff and clients in the facility<\/li>\n<li>Monitor own performance against agreed objectives and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Keep log of own performance and in-service training log for purposes of appraisal.<\/li>\n<li>Take care of own safety and that of other colleagues and clients as appropriate.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of workplace healthcare, first aid and support during Emergency situations<\/li>\n<li>Development and management of emergency procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Conducting and advising on workplace risk assessments<\/li>\n<li>Work in compliance with all GHS\/company health and safety requirements and attend relevant training to update knowledge in line with GHS Health and Safety policy.<\/li>\n<li>Advising management on health and safety issues<\/li>\n<li>Carrying out pre-employment medical assessments<\/li>\n<li>Provision of basic first aid training to permanent staff members<\/li>\n<li>Develop and implement health promotion activities, as directed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Quality Assurance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comply with all GHS Quality Assurance Policy guidelines and work within the prescribed quality standards for the clinical services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as a role model in quality improvement, offering advice and support to others.<\/li>\n<li>Keep up-to-date with quality developments relevant to area of work and related Services<\/li>\n<li>Conducting certified health checks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Further Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The post holder must at all times:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>-Work in accordance with the GHS Code of Professional Conduct and<\/p>\n<p>Disciplinary Procedure.<\/p>\n<p>-Strictly adhere to the provisions of the Patient\u2019s Charter.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Management of sickness absence and return to work in conjunction with management<\/li>\n<li>Developing return to work strategies following serious injury or a period of prolonged ill-health<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Generalized Work Activities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Working within a multidisciplinary team<\/li>\n<li>Keeping up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health and occupational health and safety<\/li>\n<li>Assessing the work environment for potential health and safety problems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis job description
