PEG\u2019s anchor product \u2013 a basic solar home system that includes six lights, a phone charger, a radio, and a TV \u2013 allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To date, PEG has raised\u00a0over $45 million\u00a0and has over 450 full time staff across Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, and was named as one of the \u201cfastest growing companies in Africa\u201d by the London Stock Exchange.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Solar Pump Engineer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The Position<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Solar Pump Engineer will be responsible for the installation of PEG Water solutions in a defined sales market and territory. This position requires the offering of PEG Water services (installation and maintenance) using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Evaluate the needs of the customer based on the nature of the site, technical requirements, \u00a0and their budgetary considerations in order to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar irrigation pump system size and configuration;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Create or interpret solar panel installation plans, mapping out the steps of the installation and where all of the components will be installed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Install, inspect, maintain and repair solar panel systems, including the solar panels, pumps, cabling, and\/or support structures.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Weatherproof the solar installation in accordance with local safety regulations and the specifications of the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Operate power and manual tools eg. soldering iron, drills, required for effective installation and maintenance activities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Clean and conduct quality checks on all repaired components<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Maintain all documentation of system installation and maintenance procedures<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Report completed and ongoing tasks to Supervisor on a daily basis, and any other intervals agreed with line manager at PEG HQ<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The successful candidate must have (or be able to):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from an accredited University or Institution, with \u00a0a related professional qualification<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Experience in solar installations; preference would be given to candidates who have many years of experience with the installation of submersible solar water pumps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In-depth knowledge of installation and maintenance procedure of solar pumps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ability to interpret schematic diagrams<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Good customer service, attention to detail and a strong work ethic<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ability to analyze, self-manage, self-motivate, and perform under extreme pressure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Skilled in using relevant hand and power tools<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services.
