Duties and Responsibilities:<\/strong>
\nUnder the general supervision of the Finance\/Administration Officer and the direct supervision of the Accounting Assistant, the incumbent will:<\/p>\n

Prepare payment vouchers and cheques in accordance with approved authorizations received; contact responsible officers to obtain clarifications on expenditure
\nMaintain records of expenditures against respective commitments
\nReconcile periodic statements and make summary analysis; review expenditures and obligations against allotments; report discrepancies to supervisor
\nMake disbursement from petty cash funds in accordance with rules and procedures and maintain records for these disbursements and related accounts as required; act as Disbursing Officer for RAF meetings in Accra
\nReview contracts, documents and letters of agreement for the timely initiation of disbursing documents
\nFollow up with suppliers and providers of services for their issuance of invoices and receipts
\nParticipate in the operation and verification of and reporting on the Office Imprest Account
\nProvide necessary clarifications and support on finance and accounting issues to RAF staff
\nAssist newly arriving or departing staff members on opening or closing bank accounts, exchanging currency and other financial matters
\nDraft on own initiative correspondence with regards to approved payments, respond to enquiries for HQ, field projects or UN agencies as required
\nFollow-up on staff personal recoveries e.g. telephone bills, etc
\nPerform other related duties as required<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Secondary school education, including or supplement by training in accounting
\nFour years of progressively responsible experience in administrative\/accounting work of which one year at a level equivalent to G-4
\nWorking knowledge (level C) of English
\nGood judgement and analytical ability
\nAbility to work accurately and quickly
\nAbility to type at 35wpm in English or French
\nAbility to use PCs and word processors
\nInitiative,courtesy and ability to establish good working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds<\/p>\n
