Located in a tropical climate, the Damang Gold Mine is a world-class operation,consisting of 25 Mtpa open pit-mining operations and a 5.2 Mtpa CIL metallurgical plant. The mine is situated in the Western Region of Ghana and is ISO 14001 and OHSAS18001 certificated. It has a current Life of Mine expectency to the year 2019 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Gold Fields Ghana Limited, Tarkwa Mine is seeking to employ an experienced and self motivated Mineral Resources Manager who will apply acquired knowledge and experience to manage a multi-faceted and multi-cultural team in the areas of geology, exploration and geotechnical engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The incumbent will ensure that policies, strategies, systems, processes and resources are in place and aligned to meet the short and long term production targets of the mine, as well as the high environmental and safety targets of the department.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures effective exploration programmes planning and implementation<\/li>\n<li>Ensures long-term detailed mineral resource strategy and strategic mine planning<\/li>\n<li>Prepares comprehensive strategic resource accounting and Competent Persons Report<\/li>\n<li>Manages contributions to the\u00a0mining operations in the\u00a0following Sections of the Department;\u00a0Geology, Exploration and Geotechnical Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Conducts internal audits of the Mineral Resource Management system and reconcile these against external\u00a0audits<\/li>\n<li>Balance resource availability to\u00a0ensure the maximization of profit<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that all applicable legislation\u00a0(including Sarbanes Oxley) resource procedures are adhered to<\/li>\n<li>Develops and mentors Mineral Resources Department Staff towards industry best practices<\/li>\n<li>Ensures and promotes teamwork, cohesion as well\u00a0as safe and healthy work practices and environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A tertiary qualification in a Mineral Resource Management related discipline<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 10 &#8211; 15 years experience in mining and exploration with particular emphasis on experience in development and optimization of mineral resource assets<\/li>\n<li>Significant experience in open pit mining in both palaeoplacer and hydrothermal gold environments<\/li>\n<li>Significant exploration experience with emphasis on diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling<\/li>\n<li>Experience of appropriate geostatistical and estimation techniques<\/li>\n<li>Experience in the management of exploration programs<\/li>\n<li>Qualify as a Competent Person, as defined by SAMREC and SEC Guidelines<\/li>\n<li>Well-developed verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact with people of diverse background<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of proven leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Medical certificate of fitness for the position and environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It would be advantageous if applicants have:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A related post-graduate qualification and\/or relevant business qualification<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of SAP and Six Sigma<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Interested parties should submit their curriculum vitae to:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>Mohammed Abubakari &#8211; Unit Manager &#8211; HR<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>Tarkwa Gold Mine<br \/>\nP.
