The Ghana Wildlife Society is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making conservation organization located at the Accra Conservation Education Centre near the Efua Sutherland Children\u2019s Park. Our mission is to conserve wildlife in all its form for improved quality of life for all people. We belong to BirdLife International, the world\u2019s largest nature conservation partnership of 120 autonomous NGOs around the world.<\/p>\n

Our response to some of these challenges is to research into threatened species, interactions between people and biodiversity in different landscapes, impacts of development on biodiversity, and how land use changes affect patterns of migration of birds along their migratory routes. To contribute to ease the growing global pressure on the Corporate world to enhance ecological footprints, we currently work in partnership with several private sector players to fashion out business models that safeguard biodiversity. \n\u2022 Our current corporate engagement spans mining, oil and gas, forestry, agriculture and renewable energy sectors.
\n\u2022 We solely rely on our scientific evidence through research projects to engage decision makers and influence national policy. We work with government agencies, national and international conservation institutions.
\n\u2022 We raise awareness and work with the youth through the Wildlife Clubs of Ghana (WCG) \u2013 a junior wing of the Society.<\/p>\n
\nat the GWS Secretariat.
\n\u2022 Spearheading budgetary planning and processes.
\n\u2022 Ensuring compliance with Government financial regulations and donor requirements.
\n\u2022 Preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports financial statements for programme and operational budgets.
\n\u2022 Monitoring and controlling expenditure within approved project budgets.
\n\u2022 Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records under various expenditure heads for program and for the organization.
\n\u2022 Perform any other related task as directed by the Executive Director.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Have proven financial management experience of a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in similar position in the non-profit sector.
\n\u2022 Experience in overseeing financial and accounting systems, compliance reviews, audits and financial control reporting.
\n\u2022 Experience in managing donor grants will be an added advantage
\n\u2022 Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
\n\u2022 Excellent skills and experience of using accounting software and associated reporting tools.<\/p>\n
