{"id":39739,"date":"2019-06-27T07:05:02","date_gmt":"2019-06-27T07:05:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=39739"},"modified":"2019-06-27T07:05:02","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T07:05:02","slug":"apply-for-internship-at-ge-power-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/apply-for-internship-at-ge-power-2019.html","title":{"rendered":"Apply For Internship At GE Power 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This position is responsible for working within GE Gas Power organization to support different GE business initiatives related equipment sales in SSA while providing technical advisory services to the power industry in the region<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Engineer Intern<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collect country-specific power market data i.e. load profiles, generation mix i.e. hydro, thermal and renewables, fuel prices, transmission topology for power economics modeling<\/li>\n<li>Identify and evaluate the power generation mix of each country and the developmental goals of the countries.<\/li>\n<li>Perform power system modeling, simulations and analysis i.e. load flow, short-circuit and dynamic stability for grid impact feasibility studies<\/li>\n<li>Provide detail report on the electric power infrastructure in the chosen SSA countries with clarity on the government, donor funding and global financing plans for such countries<\/li>\n<li>Continuously track, update and communicate country growth dynamics and communicate the impact on country priority for GE action.<\/li>\n<li>Effectively communicate study results to both internal and external clients via detailed summary reports and presentations that describe the analysis performed, solutions developed and value proposition<\/li>\n<li>Conclude internship with an informative presentation, recommendations, and next steps<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications\/Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pursuing a bachelor\u2019s degree or recent grad from an accredited university in, engineering and or economics or equivalent knowledge or experience<\/li>\n<li>Strong commercial instincts, tireless research, exact attention to detail and innovative spirit<\/li>\n<li>Solid understanding of power systems operations and equipment utilized in the electricity value chain i.e. generation, transmission, distribution and industrial<\/li>\n<li>Excellent project management skills; demonstrated process orientation and execution focus<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent cooperation within a team<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a matrix environment, highly effective communication skills (written and verbal)<\/li>\n<li>Native or conversational capability in at least two major languages from, i.e. English, French, Spanish or Swahili<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Characteristics:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High academic standing desirable, first class academic average preferred<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual that has an ability to execute with minimum supervision<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional problem-solving skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and presentation skills;
