Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0General Secretary<\/strong><\/p>\n OBJECT OF THE POSITION<\/strong><\/p>\n To provide overall professional and strategic leadership, technical, policy and administrative\u00a0direction and guidance for the achievement of the mandate of DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n Initiates and advises the Council on the formulation of policies on matters pertaining to the Association.<\/p>\n Day-to -day of the Association.<\/p>\n Provides technical and managerial leadership for the programmes and activities of the Association.<\/p>\n Co-ordinates the activities of sub-committees of the Council,<\/p>\n Represents the Assoc.ation on national\/international bodies\/agencies connected with organised labour matters.<\/p>\n Exercises oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of resources (human, material and finance) Of the Association.<\/p>\n Leads the development, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of Association\u2019s policies, strategic plans and programmes.<\/p>\n Ensures the availability of appropriate internal structures, controls, management and decision-making systems and processes Of the Association.<\/p>\n Mobilises funding from development partners and other stakeholders for the Association.<\/p>\n Prepares and submits quarterly, annual and other periodic reports on the Association\u2019s activities to the Council.<\/p>\n Builds and manages an effective and dedicated cross- cultural work team.<\/p>\n Collaborates and builds relationships with Government, Public and<\/p>\n Private sector partners and other stakeholders in carrying out the Associations\u2019 mandate.<\/p>\n Serves as Chief Negotiator with the Government, the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service.<\/p>\n QUALIFICATION\/REQUIREMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n A minimum of a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited tertiary institution.<\/p>\n Must be a professional teacher and a member of the Ghana<\/p>\n National Association of Teachers in good standing.<\/p>\n A Master\u2019s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage<\/p>\n Must be at least a Deputy Director in GES OR at least a Senior<\/p>\n Assistant Secretary (Regional Secretary) in GNAT<\/p>\n Must not be below 50 years of age.<\/p>\n Must be able to occupy the position for four (4) complete years before compulsory retirement.<\/p>\n COMPETENCIES<\/strong><\/p>\n Extensive leadership, networking, monitoring and management skills.<\/p>\n Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.<\/p>\n Negotiation, lobbying and conflict resolution skills<\/p>\n Contract, change and project management skills.<\/p>\n Policy analysis, formulation and review skills.<\/p>\n Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.<\/p>\n Capacity to inspire and motivate people around him\/her<\/p>\n Good knowledge of financial, procurement, budgeting, labour and auditing regulations.<\/p>\n Excellent knowledge of relevant computer applications.<\/p>\n REMUNERATION<\/strong><\/p>\n Compensation is negotiable within the Single spine salary structure framework.<\/p>\n How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n Applications with curriculum Vitae \/resumes, covering letters, vision\u00a0statements, letters of recommendation from two (2) referees, copies of\u00a0transcripts and certificates should be forwarded to the address below, not\u00a0later than\u00a012th July, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n The Managing Consultant<\/strong><\/p>\n GIMPA Consultancy & Innovation Directorate<\/strong><\/p>\n P.O.
