In order to ensure that UNDP should facilitate external access to its Performance Development and Management system to MSD.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Nurse\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Clinical Technical Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Within delegated authority, the Nurse shall be responsible for the following duties<\/li>\n<li>Attend the UN Clinic on a full-time basis;<\/li>\n<li>Assist the UN Physician in the performance of his\/her duties<\/li>\n<li>Responds to emergency calls during outside office hours when necessary and assists Medical Doctors in providing adequate care;<\/li>\n<li>Give first-aid and advice to the staff and their recognized dependents;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures effective liaison between patient and private doctor, paramedics, family members, and colleagues as appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>Documents case findings.<\/li>\n<li>Performs diagnostic and screening tests such as: ECG, x-rays, laboratory (blood and urine), and other tests as required.<\/li>\n<li>Performs clinical assessment of patients visiting the walk-in clinic;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Facilitates referral to the UN Medical Doctor or to an outside physician, as required.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensures preparedness of staff travelling on missions or reassignments, including administration of appropriate vaccine, instructions on malaria prophylaxis and other travel-related ailments.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Instructs on the content and potential uses of the travel kit.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Assists in providing health education and health promotion programs;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Participates in work environment assessment, e.g. office ergonomics, and addresses other occupational health issues.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Coordinates medical evacuation and cooperates with Medical Services Division in N.Y. and the receiving facilities in home countries;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Assists in providing medical support during evacuation and repatriation;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Advises evacuees on the requirements for evacuation and\/or escorts patients if needed;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Concludes or closes medical evacuation files to enable staff members to submit claims;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Assist in arrangements for the deceased;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Designs and implements outreach programs for mission personnel;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Plans and organizes preventive and promotes medical fairs;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Perform medical briefing for incoming staff and conduct first aid training;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Assess needs of clients visiting the walk-in clinic, provides care\/advice (e.g., the benefits of preventive medicine etc.) accordingly and facilitates referral to the UN Medical Physician or to an outside physician, as indicated;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Administer minor \u201coutpatient\u201d treatment and immunization requirements;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Assists in maintaining records of patients\u2019 medical data including consultations and treatment;<\/li>\n<li>Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to patient\u2019s medical records; patient management and treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Perform medication, injection, dressing, stitching, foreign body extraction and so on as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as require<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Administrative duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Maintain the UN Clinic in good order and keep the inventory of medical supplies and equipment up-to-date and be prepared for disaster;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0In consultation with the UN medical physician, maintain a 24-hour roster of available specialists for referral and treatment;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Coordinate and supervise the work of other UN Dispensary personnel i.e. Ambulance Driver and Cleaner;<\/li>\n<li>Check equipment and supplies on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis and maintain them in working order;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that medical instruments are properly sterilized and maintains hygiene and cleanliness of the dispensary;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Competencies<br \/>\n<strong>Corporate Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professionalism: Knowledge and experience in clinical\/occupational nursing.<\/li>\n<li>Planning and Organising: Develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; Organizes and prioritizes work schedule to meet client needs and deadlines. Establishes, builds and sustains effective relationships within the work unit and with internal and external clients. Responds to client needs promptly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Required Skills and Experience<br \/>\nRegistered Professional Nurse and first level degree from<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong>\u00a0an accredited Baccalaureate Nursing Programme<br \/>\n(University) or equivalent such as an accredited Diploma<br \/>\nProgramme (4 years).<br \/>\nCertificates in ECG, CPR or Basic Life Support and<br \/>\nACLS or equivalent emergency medical care is an asset.<br \/>\nRecognized additional training in primary health care and midwifery is desirable;<br \/>\nHIV\/AIDS Management training is desirable National registration and license is a requirement.<br \/>\nMinimum 5 years of continuous clinical experience in<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0nursing preferably in a multicultural environment;<br \/>\nIntensive Care and health administration. Supervisory experience in a UN field operation is an asset.
