With offices in the US and Ghana, Aspire seeks to farm locally desired insects as a way to address food insecurity. In Ghana, Aspire farms the palm weevil larva, a local delicacy that has been traditionally harvested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Quality Control Officer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tasks\/duties<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assess feed for quality at the delivery point.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect incoming feed and materials shipments, including quality and quantity.<\/li>\n<li>Assess feed for quality at the point of use for each stage.<\/li>\n<li>Create and Monitor deviation log.<\/li>\n<li>A random sampling of feed and material usage<\/li>\n<li>Conduct weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly current corporate and farm inventory counts, including waste materials.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect and examine inventory for any spoilage\/pests.<\/li>\n<li>Assess feed vendors for the agreed-upon continued delivery<\/li>\n<li>Examine current materials and assets to assess for those that are no longer used<\/li>\n<li>Conduct annual long-term asset inventory counts, including waste materials<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Repairs &amp; Maintenance checks on equipment to help protect AFG\u2019s assets and prolong their useful life span and reduce waste<\/li>\n<li>Randomly and periodically shadow farm staff and casual staff to ensure if required tasks are carried out per SOP.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect quality and output for larvae and other specimens for different functions<\/li>\n<li>Recommend adjustments to improve efficiency to the production line, including ways to improve our waste.<\/li>\n<li>Identify inefficiencies and provide practical recommendations to resolve.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and perform random checks on waste management KPIs.<\/li>\n<li>Perform Random checks on data entry activities<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the Weekly Operations Work Plan for accuracy.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect feed procurement strategy and quantities.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze quality control data to make suggestions and recommendations for protocol improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requisite Skills<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and G Suite programs<\/li>\n<li>Strong Excel skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to interpret data collected and its impact on output<\/li>\n<li>Must be vocal, assertive and speak up in the face of opposition<\/li>\n<li>Must be comfortable seeking support when necessary<\/li>\n<li>Diligent, punctual, hardworking, discrete<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills; familiar with quick &amp; responsive email communication<\/li>\n<li>Work under little supervision<\/li>\n<li>Ability to recognize systematic issues and improve processes<\/li>\n<li>Excellent record-keeping, attention to detail, and documentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to troubleshoot to achieve organizational goals<\/li>\n<li>Working proficiency in spoken and written English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>All documents should be in PDF format and email must be titled *Quality Control Officer*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Date<\/strong>: As soon as possible<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation<\/strong>: Commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong>: Mobile allowance immediately and health insurance after a 4-month period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"how-to-apply\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please submit your Cover Letter and CV titled \u201cApplication for Quality Control Officer Position\u201d.
