With 230+ staff around the world, our projects build capacity, raise awareness, conserve nature and streamline sustainability through innovation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Accounting\/Finance Specialist, Africa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Do you love working with numbers, and also care deeply about the environment? And do you like working together with people all over the world?<\/p>\n<p>Then you might be the new colleague our Finance team is currently looking for to help us in Africa.<\/p>\n<p>As Accounting and Finance Specialist in NEPCon your overall responsibility is related to the preparation of bookkeeping documents and calculations, recording of financial transactions in NEPCon\u2019s finance system, communicating with relevant internal and external parties, as well assisting in the preparation and submission of various accounting and financial reports.<\/p>\n<p><strong>More specifically the tasks include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Processing of suppliers\u2019 invoices (approvals, recording, payment preparation, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Processing of clients\u2019 invoices (preparation, sending, payment follow-up, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Daily recording of bank transactions in NEPCon\u2019s finance system<\/li>\n<li>Processing and review of staff expense reports<\/li>\n<li>Review of personnel credit card statements and reconciliation to staff expense reports<\/li>\n<li>Consulting NEPCon staff in relation to personnel reimbursable and credit card expenses<\/li>\n<li>Recording of other business transactions (revenues, expenses, accruals) in NEPCon\u2019s finance system<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with various accounting and finance tasks for NEPCon group entities (e.g., booking of bank transactions and comparison of accounting balances vs. bank statements, various account reconciliations)<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with finance and accounting calculations and data processing<\/li>\n<li>Assistance with maintaining accounting documentation<\/li>\n<li>Participation in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for filing of statutory deductions, e.g. Social Security and National Insurance Trust, Income Taxes and taxes withheld to the Ghana Revenue Authority and other offices in the Region<\/li>\n<li>Assist in organizing necessary documentation for annual independent external audit and provide a response to the auditor\u2019s report<\/li>\n<li>Finance support and analysis of setup of new NEPCon legal entities in the region<\/li>\n<li>Other tasks as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Position details<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work time: 40 hours\/week<\/li>\n<li>The position reports to our Chief Accountant who is based in Vietnam<\/li>\n<li>Working location: NEPCon Ghana\u2019s legal entity<\/li>\n<li>Salary commensurate with qualifications<\/li>\n<li>Expected starting date: as soon as possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We offer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An exciting and challenging position within a dynamic and innovative international organization with a mission-driven work atmosphere<\/li>\n<li>A friendly, international team of colleagues, with a pleasant work environment<\/li>\n<li>Excellent opportunities for growth and professional development<\/li>\n<li>All employees are members of the organization and have the opportunity to contribute to the overall development of NEPCon through the annual General Assembly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree in accounting, finance or audit.<\/li>\n<li>Must have a membership certificate of ICAG\/ACCA<\/li>\n<li>At least 4 years\u2019 work experience from similar positions.
