For further information, please see:\u00a0http:\/\/sabre.education\/<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Accountant\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Department: Operations<\/li>\n<li>Location: Head Office<\/li>\n<li>Immediate Supervisor: Operations Director<\/li>\n<li>Direct Report: Finance Manager,Finance Officer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>JOB PURPOSE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for projects and for the Organisation.<\/li>\n<li>Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports and make relevant recommendations on budget expenditures<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the Finance Unit to provide an effective accounting system to deal with the nuances of non-profit accounting and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for designated donor project budgeting, reporting and to ensure compliance with donor\u2019s requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversight of the financial record keeping, controls and reconcile the documentation, uploads the financial information in Clearbooks<\/li>\n<li>Efficient administration of account payable, account receivable, cash management, general ledger and payroll<\/li>\n<li>Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports such as financial statements, project finance reports, bank reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and evaluate information from the financial reports and provide management with proposals on best practice in financial operations.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with cash forecasting, budgeting, budget monitoring and variance explanation reports<\/li>\n<li>Manage financial control, prepare and analyze budgets, develop financial reports, and make recommendations on budget expenditures<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all financial and statutory regulations are adhered to<\/li>\n<li>Oversee the financial audits of all projects of the organization in the UK and Ghana.<\/li>\n<li>Coaching and developing the capacity of staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submission of timely error free reports<\/li>\n<li>Compliance with regulations<\/li>\n<li>Provision of analysis and professional financial advice for accurate decision-making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a first degree in Accounting from a recognized tertiary institution with at least 5 years post qualification relevant work experience<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 3 years\u2019 prior managerial experience in an NGO setting and reporting to institutional donors will be of added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Fully-Qualified Accountant (ICA, CIMA, ACCA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meticulous &amp; Analytical<\/li>\n<li>Pays Attention to Detail<\/li>\n<li>Efficient &amp; Reliable<\/li>\n<li>Good sense of judgment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to prepare, interpret and analyze financial statements and reports<\/li>\n<li>Good working knowledge of taxation, pensions, procurement and internal control measures<\/li>\n<li>Adept at Microsoft Office suite, at least one accounting software and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tools.
