The mine is located in a tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the position:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Mineral Resources Department, Operations Section of\u00a0Tarkwa Gold Mine is seeking to employ a suitably experienced and qualified Senior Geologist to oversee in-pit grade control. The position reports to the Pit Section Geologist.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensures that the Mineral Resource crew adheres to Departmental and Mine safety procedures<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the in-pit grade control activities which include ore mark-ups, selective mining and communication of material types to Rom Pad Controller and Dispatch<\/li>\n<li>Liaises with Mining Dept. personnel to plan in-pit construction activities so as to minimize ore loss and dilution<\/li>\n<li>In-pit sedimentary and structural mapping<\/li>\n<li>Assists the Section Geologist to plan daily digging schedules<\/li>\n<li>Training Geologists and Geotechnicians to achieve optimum grade<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor of Science (Hons) or Diploma in Geological Engineering\/Geology<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the position and environment<\/li>\n<li>Well developed oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of three years working experience in open pit grade control<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience on palaeplacer gold deposits<\/li>\n<li>A valid Ghanaian driver&#8217;s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>It would be advantageous if appointee has experience in:<\/strong> Competence in the use of Surpac software for grade control purposes<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Telephonic enquiries: Sampson Owusu, Tel:<\/strong> 024-4387903 \/ 054-4340335 &#8211; 9 Ext: 4202<\/p>\n<p>Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae to:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>Emmanuel Awuah &#8211; Acting HR Superintendent<br \/>\nTarkwa Gold Mine<br \/>\nP.
