The mine is located in a tropical climate in the Western Region of Ghana<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the position:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The Mineral Resources Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine is seeking to employ an experienced Geologist to oversee in-pit grade control, selective\u00a0mining practices, RC logging and sampling and Geotechnical duties to ensure optimal extraction of ore<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Performs RC\u00a0boreholes chip logging to standard<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that RC drilling and sampling are done in a prescribed manner<\/li>\n<li>Performs pit ore mark-ups to standard<\/li>\n<li>Supervises selective mining and grade control in the pits<\/li>\n<li>Ensures an efficient collection of Geotechnical data for preparation of daily reports on activities in the pit<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates activities between domain team and other departments<\/li>\n<li>Ensures own staff are effectively trained, developed, and supervised<\/li>\n<li>Handles employees&#8217; discipline and grievances<\/li>\n<li>Assists in post accident and incident investigations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A Bachelor of Science degree or Diploma in Geological Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Palaeo-placer style ore deposits<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word<\/li>\n<li>Medical fitness for the position and environment<\/li>\n<li>Well developed oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Telephonic enquiries: Sampson Owusu, Tel:<\/strong> 024-4387903 \/ 054-4340335 &#8211; 9 Ext: 4202<\/p>\n<p>Interested parties should submit their Curriculum Vitae to:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>Emmanuel Awuah &#8211; Acting HR Superintendent<br \/>\nTarkwa Gold Mine<br \/>\nP.
