MSG\u2019s goal\u00a0is to meet the needs Of the underserved and improve access to the use of Family Planning (FP) and\u00a0other Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services.<\/p>\n<p>MSIG is part of Marie Stopes International\u2019s global partnership, which operates in over Thirty-seven (37) countries worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Length Of contract: All vacancies advertised have one (1) year contract (renewable based upon good\u00a0performance).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Regional Manager, Northern Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marie Stopes International Ghana (MSIG) seeks an experienced senior manager for the role of\u00a0Regional Manager (RM). who will be responsible for the overall leadership in the northern sector,\u00a0including the delivery of results (e.g. annual business plan, donor projects, and other initiatives), team\u00a0member motivation and capacity building; strategic relationships with government and other\u00a0stakeholders (e.g. private providers and NGOs); and developing funding opportunities. The<\/p>\n<p>Regional\u00a0Manager is responsible for MSIG regional office, clinics. Bluestar-branded social franchise network of\u00a0private providers, public sector capacity-building facilities, social marketing of health products and\u00a0donor project activities in his\/her territory. He\/she will be based in the MSIG regional office in Tamale but will oversee program activity in the Northern, Savanna,\u00a0 North East. Upper East and Upper\u00a0West regions and requires frequent travel within Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The role will report to the Director of\u00a0Regional Operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work closely with the Director of Regional Operations to identify new funding opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>Lead the development and implementation Of high-quality proposals<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership, guidance and planning to support regional team members; balance delegation with appropriate hands-on management.<\/li>\n<li>Develop a clear annual (regional) implementation plan in consultation with technical and\u00a0project leads from the Accra support office and with input from the regional team.<\/li>\n<li>Provide oversight and guidance to partner NGOs and closely monitor results and outputs;\u00a0ensure that all partnership agreements with NGOs and other external service providers are\u00a0properly executed and achieve desired outcomes.<\/li>\n<li>Work with support office teams and senior management team to strengthen existing\u00a0systems to improve MSIG\u2019S regionalized structure (e.g. stores, finance. MIS, reporting. etc).<\/li>\n<li>Ensure smooth running Of the regional office; provide good documentation and maintain\u00a0accurate and up-to-date regional office files.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct regular supervisory visits with appropriate follow up<\/li>\n<li>Develop and set team goals. strategies and work plans that are fully aligned with the MSIG\u00a0goals, business plan and thew individual job framework.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure effective communication between the regional office and the support office in Accra with respect to technical issues and project activities; participate actively in MSIG\u00a0workshops and events as required.<\/li>\n<li>Develop and set team goals, strategies, and work plans that are aligned with the MSIG\u00a0goals. business pian and their individual job framework.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties that may come up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in health. demography, public health or social sciences\/development\u00a0studies<\/li>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in a related field<\/li>\n<li>Other professional qualifications. ideally in project management. desired\u00a0Knowledge of MSIG field operations and desired<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience\/Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The candidate must have;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least seven (7) years of post-graduate relevant work experience with at least three (3)\u00a0years of experience in a significant management position<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and motivating teams; experience in\u00a0managing both medical and non-medical team members<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing project life cycles (representation, project design, activity\u00a0implementation, budget\/results management, reporting, evaluation, and negotiating\u00a0adjustments)<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing budgets; experience with procurement and logistics; experience in\u00a0setting up new offices\/systems desired<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated skill in networking and working in partnership with others (internal and\u00a0external stakeholders) to achieve results; experience working with NGOs and government implementation partners; experience in working with GHS highly desired<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in working across teams with a track record of achieving both\u00a0financial and non-financial targets<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in successfully launching new projects and activities and then\u00a0building and maintaining momentum<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in networking and working in partnership with internal and\u00a0external stakeholders to achieve results.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership, negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with INGOs and government as implementation partners and with\u00a0Ghana Health Service \u2013 highly desired.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in working with both public and private health sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in health, sexual and reproductive health in particular<\/li>\n<li>Passionate about fieldwork and enjoy traveling<\/li>\n<li>Hardworking and results-focused; able to work independently and with own initiative<\/li>\n<li>Enjoys engaging people at all levels to generate shared understanding and support (e.g.\u00a0government, donors, partners, other team members, and community)<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy motivating team members and external partners to deliver results<\/li>\n<li>Team player, articulate and analytical with excellent attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal\/communication skills<\/li>\n<li>High levels of IT literacy and computer skills (Microsoft office suite)<\/li>\n<li>Pro-family planning and pro-choice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>This is a local position.
