With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions\u2014including vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Finance Assistant\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PATH is seeking a Finance Assistant to provide support to administration and finance activities in the Ghana office. The Finance Assistant will report to the PATH Ghana Finance and Administrative Officer and will focus his\/her efforts on helping to advance PATH Ghana projects; delivering quality, efficient and optimized project outcomes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>General<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare field office payment vouchers and expense reports with appropriate documentation of all transactions for the office;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that supporting documents are efficient and follow internal control;<\/li>\n<li>Input financial and accounting data into the Business world accounting software system as requested;<\/li>\n<li>Support preparation of Field Office Financial Reports (FOFRs) including gathering all vouchers and related documents, bank advices and statements on a monthly basis and timely manner;<\/li>\n<li>Scan and archive FOFR documents;<\/li>\n<li>Perform cash inventory and control (monthly closing);<\/li>\n<li>Support reconciliation of monthly bank statements;<\/li>\n<li>Assist with monitoring budget advances for workshop and\/or meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all office accounts (i.e. telephone, internet, building services, office rent, taxes and vendors) are paid in an appropriate and timely manner;<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with International accounting services for any questions and requests;<\/li>\n<li>Prepare payroll taxes and any other payments on a monthly basis;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assets Management:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain the office inventory list updated (excluding computer and other IT related equipment) and put barcode;<\/li>\n<li>Monitor office machines are tagged with an inventory barcode;<\/li>\n<li>Do a bi-annual asset inventory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monthly Analysis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Employee and non-employee Advance Account: ensure that advances are cleared on time within the month of closing;<\/li>\n<li>Analyze other receivables and Clearing Account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Procurement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that all documents follow PATH Procurement policy;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the 3-way match before processing invoices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Travel:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaise with Project Assistant to produce quarterly travel report for PATH Ghana;<\/li>\n<li>Assist project officers for their advance requests;<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to other programs for all financial aspects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of a bachelor\u2019s degree in Business Administration with finance and accounting option, ACCA II, CIMA II or equivalent.<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience working for an international NGO.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with diverse vendors and stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with any accounting system.<\/li>\n<li>Capacity to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use the Business World Accounting Software is a plus<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in working with MS office computer programs.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated strong finance and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in SAP or Agresso or any other ERP system.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communications skills.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to appropriately prioritize competing tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Effective time management and able to work under time pressure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Applicants considered for this position are to be\u00a0Ghana nationals. This position is based in Accra.
