RELATIONSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Internal:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Senior Mechanic Manager, Heads of Departments and company employees<\/p>\n<p><strong>External:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Consultants and service providers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Purpose of Appointment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervise service and maintenance of vehicles and heavy equipment<\/li>\n<li>Record keeping of service and maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Active service mechanic and CAT mechanic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Functions of Appointment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Service and repair labour trucks.<\/li>\n<li>Service and repair tractors and heavy equipment i.e. dozers, graders etc.<\/li>\n<li>Service and repair of staff vehicles i.e. pick-ups.<\/li>\n<li>Workshop housekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Care for Workshop equipment and tools.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting of problems and incidents concerning vehicles and equipment to Senior Mechanic Manager\/Senior Silviculture Forester\/General Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>JOB HOLDER SPECIFICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Formal Education;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Polytechnic certificate in mechanical or motor engineering or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Computer knowledge i.e. Microsoft office, internet<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 5 years experience in the repair and servicing of heavy equipment and vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in service scheduling and maintenance records<\/li>\n<li>8 Years working experience is required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal qualities and competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to diagnose technical problems and rectify<\/li>\n<li>Deliver quality service<\/li>\n<li>Perform records management<\/li>\n<li>Work independently in the absence of supervision<\/li>\n<li>Respond to requests and inquiries from drivers\/operators and line management effectively and timeously<\/li>\n<li>Understand and follow oral and written instructions<\/li>\n<li>Understand occupational health,
