It is Ghana\u2019s first centralized marketplace where producers and buyers of commodities trade and are assured product quality and quantity, as well as timely delivery and payment. The aim of<\/p>\n<p><strong>GCX<\/strong>\u00a0is to link Ghanaian smallholder farmers and traders to markets across Ghana and West Africa, as well as provide them with more access to finance to increase their production. The exchange has commenced trading in Maize and soya bean, with plans to offer other commodities for trading such as cashew, coffee, palm oil, and other cash crops.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>GCX<\/strong>\u00a0provides a number of services for farmers and producers, including grain aggregation, storage, grading and certification, grain processing to meet national and international standards, warehouse receipting and financial services.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange is seeking to fill the positions of warehouse keepers and assistant warehouse keepers with the requisite qualification, experience and motivation to support its operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Warehouse Storekeeper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Warehouse Storekeeper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This person is responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching all commodities delivered by\u00a0<strong>GCX<\/strong>\u00a0members or their agents ensuring that they conform to the exchange storing standards. The incumbent will also ensure the accurate keeping of inventory balances, security, and standards of stored commodities, as well as maintaining a safe work environment for all\u00a0<strong>GCX<\/strong>\u00a0stakeholders at the warehouse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Major Job Tasks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Receive commodities. conform commodities to GCX standards. arrange storage and dispatch grains in accordance with GCX policies and procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all commodities received from depositors are sorted and placed on pallets, stacked appropriately, and accurately labeled to preserve grading and<br \/>\nstandards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow up on GCX policies on fumigation, de-infestation to keep the quality of the commodities stored in good condition<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the warehouse environment is always tidy, neat. hygienic<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the issuance of GRN, warehouse receipts, and goods dispatch notices.<\/li>\n<li>Performs regular inventory counts and reports on all deposits.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the timely dispatch of commodities and reconciliation of deposits.<\/li>\n<li>Support the training of GCX members and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Encourage aggregation into GCX warehouses<\/li>\n<li>Performs other duties as assigned by the GCX Warehouse Operations Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Word.<\/li>\n<li>Good verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to the ability to professionally interact with others, and present ideas, proposals and<br \/>\nresults to management.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize and priorities daily work as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of warehousing processes and procedures, warehouse equipment operation, and general mechanical maintenance.
