PROSPER II will work in 156 communities in the Western North Region of Ghana and associated with Cargill\u2019s supply chain. With focus aligned with Cargill\u2019s core pillars of addressing farmer livelihoods, food security and nutrition and the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2 (Zero Hunger), 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality).<\/p>\n<p>PROSPER II will be operational in 7 cocoa districts \u2013 Sefwi-Wiawso, Asawinso, Anhwiaso, Awaso, Debiso, Essam and Asempaneye, all in the Western North Region of Ghana. The ultimate aim of the PROSPER project is to promote thriving communities as well as enhance sustainable cocoa production and productivity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Project Facilitators (Prosper II Project)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Project Facilitator (PF) will be based on one of the operational districts in the Western North Region and will be required to work in 20 communities in the district in which she\/he will be based. The PF will report directly to the Project Officer, who will be based in the Kumasi Sub-Office. The project will be managed from the Kumasi Sub- Office of CARE International in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The Project Facilitator (PF) is responsible for the implementation of the project at the district and community level including;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with Project Officer in the preparation and implementation of work plans, capacity building modules, planning and delivery of project activities.<\/li>\n<li>Support the PO to design, develop and implement project strategies and plans, ensuring they are in line with the project objectives, strategies and principles, and CARE\u2019s mission and vision.<\/li>\n<li>Support the PO to design and implement project approaches and methodologies aiming towards community empowerment, partner capacity building, partnerships and policy influence as well as lesson learning.<\/li>\n<li>Support the M&amp;E officer to implement a project monitoring and evaluation plan and monitor its implementation in the district.<\/li>\n<li>Implement, monitor and evaluate activities in collaboration with partners and other stakeholders, so as to ensure the efficient and effective achievement of project objectives<\/li>\n<li>Assist the PO in the preparation of monthly forecast and quarterly financial and activity reports<\/li>\n<li>Ensure monthly documentation of project best practices<\/li>\n<li>Work with the PO to ensure all beneficiary communities receive appropriate technical support from CARE\u2019s District partners and consultants<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the development of a learning portfolio<\/li>\n<li>Develop, manage and supervise relationships and activities of beneficiary communities and collaborating partners<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the negotiation of MOUs, SOWs, and contracts with communities and collaborating partners<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and evaluate community-level activities and submit reports to the Project Officer using approved templates<\/li>\n<li>Work with Project Officer and partners in planning and organizing training workshops for community groups and others as may be required<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the formation of VSLAs and promote community development, food security and nutrition, gender, child protection, and additional livelihoods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum qualification of a first degree or Diploma from a recognized University or Tertiary Institution in Social Work, Social Science, Community Development, Adult Education, or other related courses.<\/li>\n<li>At least two years of field experience in working with communities, community- based organizations (CBOs) especially farmer-based organizations (FBOs) with an NGO or public sector agencies;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in facilitating linkages, relationship building and networking<\/li>\n<li>Experience in adult training methodologies such as the use of PRA\/PLA tools and Community Action Planning<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of the Wiawso Municipality and the cocoa sector<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in the formation and functioning of Village Savings and Loans Associations ( VSLAs)<\/li>\n<li>Appreciable working knowledge of Akan customary practices<\/li>\n<li>Ability to demonstrate Community development and facilitation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Able to work with minimum supervision and able to meet deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent computer skills (word, excel, outlook, Powerpoint ); Excellent spoken English, Fanti, and Twi;<\/li>\n<li>Good report writing; and Excellent presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to ride a motorbike (valid motor riding license).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multitask and work within deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and good team player<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"how-to-apply\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Interested candidates should submit their applications and detailed CVs to the HR Officer, CARE International in Ghana or electronically to<strong>\u00a0hr.ghana@care.org<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PLEASE INDICATE CLEARLY IN THE SUBJECT LINE THE POSITION YOU ARE APPLYING FOR.<\/li>\n<li>Closing date for submission of applications is Friday 18th October, 2019.<\/li>\n<li>Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">At CARE, we know that recruiting and retaining a talented and diverse workforce is critical to achieving our mission of ending global poverty.
