The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t\/day of ore mined.<\/p>\n<p>We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Operator \u2013\u00a0Vent Fans &amp; Fridge Plant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong>ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The Operator \u2013 Vent Fans &amp; Fridge Plant reports to the Mechanical Supervisor \u2013 Surface Mine Infrastructure and is accountable for operating the primary vent fans (KMVS,CAT 300, BVS, pastefill &amp; fridge plant) in a safe and compliant manner as tasked and instructed during refurbishment, and later operations, of the Surface Mine Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The work is to be executed in accordance with detailed tasking in accordance with applicable Government of Ghana and AGAG safety and environmental requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work compliantly with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health &amp; safety legislation and AGAG regulation<\/li>\n<li>Accept personal responsibility for his own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to site\u2019s Environmental Management Plan<\/li>\n<li>Interface with Contractors as directed and\/or Construction teams regarding mechanical work tasks for refurbishment works and planned works that support the overall work plan, schedule and expectations.<\/li>\n<li>Attend training, development and performance improvement training as required<\/li>\n<li>Execute the work of operating the primary vent fans (KMVS, CAT 300, BVS, pastefill &amp; fridge plant) as tasked \u2013 compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG<\/li>\n<li>Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment\/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies<\/li>\n<li>Carry out all short interval measures and controls to assure smooth running of the equipment and to report any interruptions and\/or anomalies requiring attention from maintenance trades<\/li>\n<li>Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist and transport all tools necessary for task completion<\/li>\n<li>Recognize any machine, equipment or crane operation anomalies that would indicate requirements for maintenance, report and escalate.<\/li>\n<li>Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to open work orders on SAP for work to be carried out and close out work orders in SAP on completion of the tasked work for the equipment being operated.<\/li>\n<li>Operate all equipment within the safe working envelope and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualification<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Senior High School Certificate<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of successful completion of respected trade apprenticeship (example: City and Guilds)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Five (5) years of experience of post apprenticeship work in that or related trade<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fully literate and numerate<\/li>\n<li>Fully competent in mechanical trade<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge in crane safe operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interested Ghanaians with the above qualification and experience should submit their applications, with detailed CV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLOSING DATE:\u00a010TH JANUARY, 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation.
