Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. STRATEGY FORMULATION<\/strong>
\nDevelops strategies on how to manage the institutional credit Risk exposure:
\nTarget setting for institutional arrears rates to converge to standards of portfolio quality (PAR)
\nDevelopment of policies and procedures for controlling and steering loan losses and administration of problem loans according to client segmentation schemes in order to find constructive solutions in the fastest possible manner
\nDevelopment of strategy and implementation of measures to increase quality at all phases of the lending process according to standards of ASL lending technology and industry practice
\nDevelops strategies for portfolio diversification in terms of size, industry, location of client etc
\nMakes significant inputs in reviewing the ASL Credit Manual in sections relating to credit risk<\/p>\n

2. CONTROLLING<\/strong>
\nDirectly responsible for ensuring that branches do proactive and effective monitoring of disbursed loans
\nMonitoring different macroeconomic indicators and market \/industry specific factors that impact on credit risk and advise the Credit Department on possible measures of managing such risks
\nConducts periodic credit risk research on certain markets and industries to determine the level of risk exposure involved in lending to participants in such markets or industries
\nProviding feedback on the design and development of new credit products and improvement of existing ones by focusing on risk and quality aspects
\nMonitoring adherence to arrears management procedures at all branches
\nInvestigation of potential fraud in lending operations (with the help of Internal Audit)<\/p>\n

3. TASK EXECUTION<\/strong>
\nMonthly setting of arrears (PAR) targets in consultation with BMs and CSs & following up to ensure their accomplishment.
\nImplementation of recovery procedures necessary to achieve a desired PAR
\nDirectly participates in branch arrears committees
\nPeriodically assists in confiscation of collaterals
\nWorks with the Police in handling credit related criminal charges brought by ASL against clients
\nPrepares monthly and periodic reports on delinquency management
\nSets targets for recovery officers and monitors their performance closely to avoid any negative variances
\nAssists the company Legal Secretary to process credit-related cases at the law courts
\nTakes measures to recover all delinquent staff loans
\nPrepares Agenda and supporting documents for Credit Risk Committee (Head Office)
\nPrepares monthly and periodic reports on portfolio quality for the Board Sub-Committee on Credit<\/p>\n

4. STAFF TRAINING<\/strong>
\nTraining of employees (credit staff and others) on credit risk management
\nRequired Skills or Experience<\/p>\n

Educational requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

University degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Business Law or related field
\nWorking experience
\nAt least 2 years experience in loan underwriting
\nExperience in loan recovery in a financial institution would be desired
\nKnowledge of the microfinance sector\/market in the operational areas of microfinance
\nSpecial \/ Personal Abilities
\nFamiliarity with figures
\nComputer knowledge (MS office)
\nGood communication skills
\nStrong analytical skills
\nConversant with Laws relating to debt recovery
\nVery firm and tough character
\nResults oriented and time conscious
\nTeam player and ability to motivate others to achieve set goals<\/p>\n
