These practical, evidence-based interventions are breaking down barriers to high-quality health care for the world\u2019s most vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Regional Technical Officers x2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jhpiego is a key partner in the USAID-funded President\u2019s Malaria Initiative (PMI) IMPACT Malaria project contributing to the country\u2019s National Malaria Control Strategic Plan 2014-2020 and beyond. The project will operate over a five-year period.<\/p>\n<p>The Ghana Country office of Jhpiego Corporation is currently looking for passionate individuals to fill the following positions:\u00a0Regional Technical Officers (2) \u2013 Job Locations: Sekondi\/Takoradi (1); Tamale (1)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Regional Technical Officer (RTO) will provide programmatic, technical and financial guidance to the implementation team in the project. The successful candidate will supervise a team of multi-disciplinary professionals providing technical assistance and support to IM-supported project facilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The RTO will assist with individual and site work planning and harmonize with strategic plan as it relates to Ministry of Health (MOH), Ghana Health Service (GHS) and the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP).<\/li>\n<li>The RTO will foster a productive working relationship between NMCP and partner organizations including local professional associations while maintaining an excellent working relationship with counterparts at regional and district levels, implementing partners, and local institutions.<\/li>\n<li>The RTO will also oversee quality of care interventions at project-supported health facilities, monitor and maintain technical quality of activities in all aspects of the project\u2019s deliverables.<\/li>\n<li>The RTO will work with Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation (SME) staff to implement existing SME plans that will feed data into the national comprehensive HMIS grid and DHIS2 and help document programmatic results, achievements, success stories and challenges in a timely manner, as required by the project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Physician Assistant, Clinical Nurse or any other closely related health care professional, specialization in malaria and other health related courses (e.g. MPH, MPA or other relevant degree) will be highly desirable<\/li>\n<li>Minimum of 4-5 years working experience in the areas of malaria service delivery and management including malaria in pregnancy care and treatment with previous working experience on USAID or CDC funded projects will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Service delivery or clinical experience in malaria management, including malaria in pregnancy care and treatment is highly desirable<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with the MOH, GHS structures and functions especially as it relates to NMCP is highly desirable<\/li>\n<li>Experience in managing and supervising technical\/facility staff<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ability to multi-task and proven knowledge and skills in use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word processing, Excel and PowerPoint) is mandatory<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and fluency in English language<\/li>\n<li>Ability to speak a local language in the respective project state will be an added advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"how-to-apply\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qualified persons are required to send their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and application letter to:\u00a0<strong>work2savelives@gmail.com<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Deadline for the submission of applications: January 28, 2020<\/li>\n<li>Please note that given the likely high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: All staff members of Jhpiego, regardless of the level of their responsibilities are expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Model the mission and values stated above<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the business development processes<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the knowledge sharing and transfer \u00a0process<\/li>\n<li>Make responsible decisions that result in time \u00a0and cost containment and clear accountability<\/li>\n<li>Participate in multiple teams, adopt team spirit, take responsibility for action items assigned and provide \u00a0feedback as needed<\/li>\n<li>Multitask, be able to manage competing priorities and be able to prioritize in order to meet program and\/or organizational objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Jhpiego is an Affirmative Action\/Equal Opportunity Employer<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University.
