Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Underwriter\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Reporting to the Chief Underwriting Officer through the Senior Underwriter, the Underwriter will Responsibilities and Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Generate business through marketing activities and increasing the visibility of ATI. \nmarket and generate business for ATI as well as assess the businesses ATI is underwriting.<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Organize\/manage awareness events in countries of responsibility<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Assess the risks of the proposed transactions and produce a report of the risk to convince approvers to accept the risk;
\n\u2022 Issue non-binding\/indicative term sheets
\n\u2022 Arrange reinsurance for transactions requiring reinsurance support
\n\u2022 Preparation of policy documents
\n\u2022 Educating policy holders on the A-Z of the policy they are about to sign<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Following up on any outstanding documentation\/information from policyholders
\n\u2022 Continuously monitoring the assigned portfolio, pre-empting any potential risk events
\nthereon; and promptly bringing such to management\u2019s attention<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Master\u2019s degree in the relevant area is an added advantage
\n\u2022 A Professional qualification: Insurance CII \/ CPA\/ Professional Banking Certification (is an added advantage)
\n\u2022 Knowledge of insurance and re-insurance
\n\u2022 Knowledge of French is an added advantage
\n\u2022 Proficiency in MS Office suite of packages
\n\u2022 Report writing
\n\u2022 Negotiation skills
\n\u2022 Time management
\n\u2022 Good oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
\n\u2022 Presentation skills
\n\u2022 Analytical skills
\n\u2022 Strategic thinking
\n\u2022 Judgement and decision making skills
\n\u2022 Ability to work beyond normal working hours when the job so demands<\/p>\n
