The position reports directly to the Country Director (CD).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Purpose:<br \/>\n<\/strong>To develop capabilities in programme design, implementation and evaluation among Plan staff and programme participants, and to support the achievement of country programme goals that are aligned with Plan&#8217;s programme guide which aims at promoting child rights to end child poverty<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Facilitate the design of programme related sections of the Country Strategic Plan to ensure quality and relevant programming of Plan activities<\/li>\n<li>Document and disseminate Plan best practices from within Plan and from other organisations to promote quality and learning<\/li>\n<li>Support programme unit staff in programme design and implementation, ensuring technical support is provided<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards of accountability, effectiveness and efficiency in the achievement of Plan&#8217;s programme aimed at promoting child rights to end child poverty<\/li>\n<li>Manage and support in country operations networks for learning and improvement<\/li>\n<li>Manage and develop programme support unit staff to improve staff performance<\/li>\n<li>Participate on the Country Management Team (CMT) to support leadership in managing the country&#8217;s programme<\/li>\n<li>Fulfill Plan&#8217;s Child Protection Policy at all times to ensure children are protected from all forms of abuse<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A Master&#8217;s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or any related area;<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years experience in related program management position with solid supervisory support skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seen as a source of development expertise, and proactive in sharing knowledge and advice<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of monitoring, research and evaluation using quantitative and qualitative principles<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of data management software (SPSS, Epi Info, EXCEL, Word, Power Point, Access)<\/li>\n<li>Understands Plan&#8217;s work, and implements processes and practices that support achievement of organisational objectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in the delivery of health, education, water &amp; sanitation, grants support management and community development<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience in a similar senior management level in a reputable international organisation similar to Plan<\/li>\n<li>Process management, facilitation, negotiation, people management, information management<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent report writing and presentation skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent human relations and ability to work with minimum supervision<\/li>\n<li>Good training skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal skills in English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Attitudes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Influencing staff to improve performance<\/li>\n<li>Promoting high performance<\/li>\n<li>Open to feedback and willing to try new approaches and processes<\/li>\n<li>Team spirit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit their applications with a comprehensive CV and a copy of the certificate of their highest academic qualification to the address below.
