This is a unique opportunity to work in a challenging environment at an exciting time for the Company, as it seeks to expand its operations into new and highly competitive areas.\u00a0Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the Operations Manager\/Director will provide strong leadership in the profitability and market development of the Company, across the territories of\u00a0Ghana,\u00a0Sierra Leone\u00a0and\u00a0Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The position will be based in\u00a0Accra,\u00a0Ghana, and will involve extensive travel throughout the region.\u00a0Accra is\u00a0Ghana\u2019s cultural and tourist hub; located on the beautiful Ghanaian Atlantic coast, it provides an interesting and secure environment in which to live and work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These will include, but not be limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Setting up and implementing new distributor networks in new territories<\/em><em><\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Implementing and improving operational systems, processes and policies to ensure\u00a0\u00a0the effectiveness of the Company\u2019s ability to sell equipment and related services\/support to its customers in the region<\/em><em><\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Driving initiatives in the management team and organisationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence and profitability.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Proactively developing and enhancing relationships with existing and potential clients to promote sales and support<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Regularly monitoring and gathering market intelligence to keep abreast of our competitors\u2019 performance<\/em><em><\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Developing other territories and franchises outside those designated as and when the\u00a0\u00a0need arises<\/em><em><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<div><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Experience and Qualifications<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div>Whilst a Degree and\/or a professional qualification in a mining or construction equipment discipline would be advantageous, rather than essential, we would like to hear from candidates who have:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>At least 10 years experience in \u00a0heavy mining, construction and utility equipment<\/li>\n<li>Commercial focus, with the ability to make and retain effective business contacts<\/li>\n<li>West African experience and ideally, be living or located in Africa<\/li>\n<li>Good business development experience, the ability to lead the Company into new Regional marketplaces<\/li>\n<li>Experience of start up, and the flexibility to work within a relatively small operating unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><strong>The remuneration package includes a very competitive basic salary, furnished housing, motor vehicle for business and private use, medical scheme, performance based bonus scheme, and other requisite fringe benefits<\/strong><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>Interested candidates should forward their CV (in English), quoting the Reference Number UK642395 in the subject line, to:<a href=\"mailto:bill.gibson@hudson.com\">bill.gibson@hudson.com<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Hudson\u00a0offers the services of an employment agency for permanent work and an employment business for temporary work.
