Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

Job Title:\u00a0Tech Support Intern\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a customer-facing position that requires total professionalism<\/p>\n

\u2022 Follow Standard Operating Procedures\u00a0 to troubleshoot, reproduce, document and resolve customer-related issues by knowledge of the company\u2019s product stack and technologi<\/u>es. Understand, set, manage and exceed customer expectations<\/p>\n

\u2022Create and maintain documentation, process standards and service information<\/p>\n

\u2022 Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues<\/p>\n

\u2022 Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ask customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem<\/p>\n

\u2022Track computer system issues through to resolution, within agreed time limits<\/p>\n

\u2022Take clients through a series of actions, either via phone, email or chat, until a technical issue is resolved<\/p>\n

\u2022 Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers<\/p>\n

\u2022 Refer to required resources to provide accurate tech solutions<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure all issues are properly logged<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time<\/p>\n

\u2022 Follow up with clients to ensure their IT systems are fully functional after troubleshooting<\/p>\n

\u2022 Prepare accurate and timely reports<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain jovial relationships with clients<\/p>\n

\u2022Ensure maximum service availability and performance<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor the performance and capacity of servers using a variety of tools to look for hardware, software, and environmental alerts or malfunctions.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provisioning (IP assi<\/u>gnment, core network configuration, DNS setup, monitoring and graphing for colocation, leased lines, customer backup and other customer network services).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Server build and installs, application upgrades, network equipment build and installation. Maintaining hardware serial audits, writing custom monitoring plugins and configuring bespoke graphing.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Facilities maintenance (monitoring servers, UPS, generators, power usage, running health and safety checks on all client applications and infrastructure.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Facilities provisioning (rack setup, ethernet, fibre installation and console cabling remote power and KVM).<\/p>\n

Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues<\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent problem-solving and communication skills<\/p>\n

\u2022 Outstanding written\/verbal communication and interpersonal skills in providing step-by-step technical help<\/p>\n

\u2022 Unix\/Linux Knowledge required<\/p>\n

\u2022Basic knowledge of Mobile Technologies<\/p>\n

\u2022Ability to work early morning or late night shifts<\/p>\n

\u2022Software troubleshooting knowledge and experience<\/p>\n

\u2022 Organisation and attention to details<\/p>\n

\u2022A passion for working directly with customers and a team player.<\/p>\n

\u2022Must have impeccable follow through skills .<\/p>\n

\u2022Must be able to readily answer support related emails, phone calls and other channel sources<\/p>\n

\u2022 Self-motivated, works effectively with minimal supervision (NO MICROMANAGING)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge on Kannel is an advantage.<\/p>\n

\u2022Experience with Cyberoam, PFsense<\/p>\n

\u2022 Basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proven track record within a NOC, IT or ISP environment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience working in a large distribution or manufacturing environment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Previous customer service or help-desk experience.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience managing, supporting and deploying network infrastructures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, alerts, events or issues<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understanding of common information architecture frameworks.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Excellent time management and organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and projects with minimal supervision.<\/p>\n

\u2022Good oral and written communication skills and ability to address conflict with others constructively .<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to assess and prioritise faults and respond or escalate accordingly.<\/p>\n
