Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nReports to (position):\u00a0Procurement and Grants Coordinator.
\nPurpose:\u00a0 How does this post support Plan\u2019s strategy and mission?\u00a0Plan International is an independent non-profit organization that advances children\u2019s well-being and equality for girls. Working in building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and present in 70 countries, Plan International strives for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children while working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners.<\/p>\n

Plan International Ghana is looking for a Driver to support a team of professionals and deliver high quality programming and results for a project titled \u201cWomen\u2019s Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises (WISE)\u201d. The WISE Project to seeks to leverage enormous potential and agency of Ghanaian women aged 19 to 55 years entrepreneurs in rural and peri-urban areas by employing both demand- and supply-side interventions to contribute to increased realization of rights to economic empowerment, well-being and inclusive economic growth in 3 districts in Bono and Ahafo region (Sunyani Municipal, Tano North and Techiman Municipal) and 2 districts in Northern region (Kumbungu and Tolon). The project will start in February 2020, has a duration of 4 years, and a budget of over $ 5.5 million EUR.<\/p>\n

Dimensions of Role:
\nFinancial measures or statistics relevant to post such as budget; list of direct and indirect reports
\nArea of Responsibility \u2013 Women\u2019s Innovation for Sustainable Enterprises (WISE)
\nServe on Purchasing Committee from time to time.<\/p>\n

Typical Responsibilities \u2013 Key End Results of Position:
\n\u201cWhat\u201d is done and \u201cwhy\u201d, but not \u201chow\u201d; include indicators for success<\/p>\n

Drive professionally and defensively to ensure safety and protection of staff at all times without any incidents of accidents or injuries<\/p>\n

Ensure vehicle is maintained as per the maintenance schedule of the vehicle to enhance longevity of vehicle with no reports of frequent breakdowns or malfunctioning of vehicle<\/p>\n

Ensure that vehicle movement and mileage are duly recorded in the vehicle\u2019s logbook to keep and track vehicle movement without any reports of carjacking<\/p>\n

Ensure that the vehicle is always cleaned to enhance its state and notify Procurement and Grants Coordinator at least 3 months before the expiry date of the vehicles documents (insurance\/roadworthiness certificate etc) for renewal without any queries from the MTTU\/Police<\/p>\n

Dispatch local mail to addressees as would be directed to keep and maintain communication with our clients without any reports of missing mails and withdraw monies at bank as would be directed for implementation of project activities without any reports of fraud or loss of monies<\/p>\n

Comply with Plan\u2019s Child Protection and safeguarding Policy at all times without any reports or incidents of child abuse.
\nPerform any other duties to be assigned to support the attainment of WISE project goals.<\/p>\n

Communications and Working Relationships:
\nWorking contacts inside and outside the organization; include the purpose and level (high, medium, low) of the contact
\nLow contact with service providers and suppliers for the collection of quotations, receiving and dispatch of goods, material, equipments, mails, deposits etc.
\nMaintains a high contact with project staff to facilitate prompt movement of staff towards the implementation of project and activities.<\/p>\n

Knowledge, Skills, Behaviors, and Experience Required to Achieve Role\u2019s Objectives:
\nGained through education, training, & experience
\nKnowledge:
\nGCE O level\/SSS
\nAt least 5 years driving experience in the formal sector
\nValid driving license with at least class C
\nExperience in the NGO sector preferably with child-related development organisation, would be an advantage<\/p>\n

Skills:
\nBasic auto mechanic skills
\nGood knowledge of Highway Code
\nDefensive driving
\nGood communication skills
\nGood verbal and writing skills
\nGood inter-personal skills
\nGood planning and organizing abilities<\/p>\n

Physical Environment and Demands:
\nMay be \u201ctypical office environment\u201d; note if heavy lifting, climbing, excess travel, etc.
\nTravel requirements
\nThis position entails 80% travelling time within Plan offices and in the Program Units with 20% of the time on office related activities.<\/p>\n

Level of Contact with Children:
\nLow contact:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No contact or very low frequency of interaction
\nMid contact:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Occasional interaction with children
\nHigh level:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Frequent interaction with children<\/p>\n

Mid contact- the job responsibilities of this position require the post holder to have occasional one-to-one contact with children and youth. It is expected that children and youth shall be protected at all times.<\/p>\n
