Here in Ghana, we have built a great team which is championing and delivering on the needs and rights of these communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>(3 Years Renewal Contract)<br \/>\n<strong>Salary:<\/strong>\u00a0GH\u00a23,000 &#8211; GH\u00a24,000<br \/>\n<strong>Person Specification:\u00a0<\/strong>Must be eligible to work in Ghana<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Country Office, Accra<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<br \/>\nCapacity building:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate learning in Citizen Engagement and the development\u00a0of skills needed by\u00a0WaterAid staff and partners, collaborators and other stakeholders in the effective implementation\u00a0of the WaterAid in Ghana (WAG) country strategy<\/li>\n<li>Provide an in-depth knowledge\u00a0in Citizen\u00a0Engagement and apply professional quality control measures to the services provided by the RLC such as identifying sites for best\u00a0practices, development of skills and information tool kits, etc. through the application of new approaches for the organisation and protect the virtual\u00a0resource base<\/li>\n<li>Promote the achievements of WaterAid by show casing impacts and best practices through innovative means at all levels<\/li>\n<li>Plan, manage and budget for training and capacity building programmes under the RLC thematic area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Leadership Role:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to decision making at the national\u00a0and regional level as a member of\u00a0the country programme Senior\u00a0Management Team (SMT) and Regional Leadership Team RLT<\/li>\n<li>Represent WaterAid in the\u00a0WASH sector learning forums organised by the sector\u00a0in Ghana and on other international platforms<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to effective decision making at SMT level on fundraising, project planning, people management, monitoring and evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible\u00a0and conform to the identity, values and beliefs of the organisation in all the documentation produced by the country programme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Strategy Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the design, implementation, development, and review of WAG&#8217;s country strategy to reflect the ethos of WaterAid&#8217;s Global strategy<\/li>\n<li>Design, develop and\u00a0implement a sustainable RL strategy for Citizen Engagement on WASH in Ghana and\u00a0for other\u00a0CPs in the region<\/li>\n<li>Create regular learning platforms\u00a0for reflection and review\u00a0among key stakeholders on\u00a0the citizen engagement strategy<\/li>\n<li>Actively contribute to SMT decision making processes on how to enhance learning in the CSP5<\/li>\n<li>Develop\u00a0and facilitate the implementation of a template for learning and knowledge management among staff and all stakeholders in Ghana and in other CPs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation and\u00a0Learning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adopt systematic and innovative approaches to gathering information from all levels\u00a0and synthesizing them for\u00a0learning, dissemination and application<\/li>\n<li>Support the coordination and the development\u00a0of micro-macro\u00a0linkages of WASH learning\u00a0in Ghana and recommend them\u00a0to other CPs in\u00a0the region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Building and\u00a0developing &#8216;learning&#8217; relationships:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proactively identify and develop relationships in Ghana and in other CPs that will add value to WAG&#8217;s learning agenda<\/li>\n<li>Promote platforms for innovations, learning and sharing on citizen engagement in Ghana and other CPs in the region<\/li>\n<li>Proactively engagement government on citizen engagement and its values towards WASH sector ownership of regional learning centres in Ghana and other CPs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Support to WaterAid West Africa (WAWA):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute actively in the decision making process of the Regional Leadership Team<\/li>\n<li>Develop mechanisms and appropriate tools in interacting with Cps and receiving feedbacks for the thematic evolution of the RLC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Policy influencing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the process of generating grassroot evidence for policy influencing at all\u00a0levels<\/li>\n<li>Work with relevant WAG departments in\u00a0developing a data bank of policy briefs, briefing\u00a0notes and fact sheets in readiness for\u00a0policy\u00a0influencing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cross working:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with the Policy and Partnership Department (PPD) and People and OD Department (POD) in building and strengthening capacities of staff and stakeholders in furtherance of citizen engagements in WAG&#8217;s country strategy<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with PPD and PSD in developing a &#8216;case study bank&#8217; for use in reports, and other innovative knowledge management products for fundraising, lobbying and campaigns at various levels<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with the M&amp;E Advisor in tracking changes and progress of our work for upward and downward accountability purposes<\/li>\n<li>Work closely with RCn to influence their agenda towards the adoption of citizen engagement approaches as a sustainable and effective WASH sector approach<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Accomplish all other required tasks in the implementation of Country Programme activities and the Region.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Social Science, Communication, or relevant discipline<\/li>\n<li>Masters Degree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><br \/>\nPractical experience in coordinating multiple interventions on the field and developing innovative approaches for the promotion, sharing, documentation and the evaluation of good practices<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rich experience in capacity\u00a0building of staff and\u00a0stakeholders on thematic issues<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge in global political debates and their\u00a0impacts on issues regarding water, sanitation and hygiene<\/li>\n<li>Rich experience in project\/programme management<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in citizen-government engagement and Right Base Approach (RBA)<\/li>\n<li>Good understanding and ability to use participatory approaches and methodologies\u00a0for the promotion of hygiene and sanitation<\/li>\n<li>Should knowledge in governance and advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in research work and analysis<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in managing research\u00a0projects\u00a0and documentation<\/li>\n<li>Sound knowledge of the WASH sector and its policies in Ghana<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous\u00a0successes chalked in the areas of capacity\u00a0building and learning<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of work environment international NGOs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to speak and write French is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Personal specifications\/qualities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrated good leadership skills, for negotiations and influence<\/li>\n<li>Very organised and ability to plan effectively<\/li>\n<li>Must be creative, proactive\u00a0and able to work with minimal supervision<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Committed to\u00a0WaterAid\u00a0values and able to demonstrate them<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated and able to work under pressure<\/li>\n<li>Ability to effectively work in a shared office\u00a0environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have rich experienced in organising, relationships building and communication<\/li>\n<li>Ready to travel in our outside the country<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Please go to wateraid.org for the detailed job description, EEO forms.
