We run the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum. Our school is home to both Ghanaian and international students aged between 9months and 18 years old.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Title:\u00a0Primary School Teacher\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Brainy Bairn School is a fantastic place to work, offering a wide range of opportunities and support for every member of staff. We have a shared ambition to do our very best for every pupil in our care.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking to recruit a qualified and outstanding teacher who will join our dedicated team in our drive to raise attainment and increase enrichment for all pupils across the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To carry out the professional duties of a class teacher in accordance with the school\u2019s policies under the direction of the Headteacher.<\/li>\n<li>To be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and has students who achieve well.<\/li>\n<li>Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with all stakeholders in the best interests of pupils<\/li>\n<li>Act within, the statutory frameworks, which set out their professional duties and responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To carry out the duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the school\u2019s teacher handbook and have due regard to the school\u2019s Teacher Standards. The Successful Applicant will:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan collaboratively alongside the Year Group team to provide an engaging and exciting curriculum.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate and reflect on learning outcomes for the pupils.<\/li>\n<li>Use a range of teaching styles that promote a love of learning.<\/li>\n<li>Present the curriculum in a stimulating and interesting manner, being positive and encouraging to pupils and valuing each child\u2019s contribution.<\/li>\n<li>Differentiate the curriculum appropriately according to the individual pupils.<\/li>\n<li>Use relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent sessions.<\/li>\n<li>Give parents and pupils regular feedback, both orally and encourage pupils to respond to the feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Provide an engaging, stimulating and challenging environment that reflects children\u2019s learning<\/li>\n<li>Monitor and organize classroom resources to promote independent learning and keep them in a good state of repair.<\/li>\n<li>Promote the development and emotional well-being of pupils.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Working with colleagues<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan and work collaboratively and support colleagues.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with colleagues regarding the progress and well-being of children to ensure continuity.<\/li>\n<li>Work as closely as possible with parents and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to work as part of a team in all areas of school life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work within the school<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Act in a professional manner at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Make children aware of their role in the wider caring community.<\/li>\n<li>Attend staff meetings, parents\u2019 evenings and any curriculum meetings as part of directed time.<\/li>\n<li>Attend year team\/phase meetings<\/li>\n<li>Be actively involved in behavior management, both inside and outside the classroom in accordance with school policy<\/li>\n<li>Do playground\/outside provision duty<\/li>\n<li>Take assemblies (when appropriate)<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with any necessary external agencies<\/li>\n<li>Keep abreast of current educational developments and review their own performance from time to time<\/li>\n<li>Participate in arrangements for the appraisal of your performance and that of other teachers<\/li>\n<li>Accept your right and responsibility for professional development, attending any appropriate courses<\/li>\n<li>Be aware of the safety and welfare of the children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Curriculum maintenance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with colleagues in a School Development\/Teaching and Learning team<\/li>\n<li>Take responsibility for stock maintenance, resourcing and developing particular curriculum areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Teaching<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Commitment to the highest standards of educational and pastoral care for all children.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of child development and the need for continuity and progression<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to teach across the primary age range<\/li>\n<li>Relevant teaching qualification<\/li>\n<li>Experience of Primary teaching<\/li>\n<li>Be confident in the use of ICT<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities<\/li>\n<li>Ability to listen and respond to the needs of children<\/li>\n<li>Ability to inspire children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Work within the school<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appreciation of the role of all stakeholders and a welcoming attitude to their interest<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to, and understanding of, equal opportunities<\/li>\n<li>A willingness to support the school ethos in developing a stimulating and secure environment<\/li>\n<li>Have stamina and a sense of humor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility and adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge of current initiatives and the ability to organize into practice<\/li>\n<li>Ability to motivate and create a collegiate atmosphere within the school<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please email the following to<strong>\u00a0jobs@brainybairn.edu.gh<\/strong>\u00a0on or before\u00a0<strong>31<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0March 2020<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0(Note: Subject of your email should be the job title)<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Personal Statement in support of your application.
