\nTo co-ordinate, perform and maintain changes to the process control system to maintain the gold production process at optimal target range.<\/p>\n
\nBuild and develop a competent maintenance team capable of carrying out needed programming and \/ or engineering initiatives.
\nProvide effective on-the-job training and coaching to ensure employees gain new skills and achieve their maximum potential.
\nDeliver training to E&I personnel in PLC & SCADA tasks, aligning to Newmont\u2019s safety, environmental and maintenance practices.
\nOversee that all machinery and control systems operated by Process Maintenance personnel is done safely and efficiently at all times.
\nAccept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every employee under or assigned to his \/ her supervision.
\nConduct periodic safety meetings and inspections.
\nAttend monthly safety inspection and meetings.
\nPerform project programming, modifications and hardware modifications.
\nDesign and install retrofits to existing systems.
\nOversee that all modifications and programming changes are consistent with existing process control standards.
\nMaintain records of all changes and modifications to Process Control Systems.
\nTraining & Experience
\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Computer Science \/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
\nMinimum of 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 experience in a process control and instrumentation environment.
\nStrong knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
\nStrong knowledge of the work management process.
\nStrong knowledge in PLC and SCADA control systems.
\nStrong knowledge of maintenance plant equipment.
\nKnowledge of Asset Management principles and practice.
\nKnowledge of the statutory regulations relevant to safety and the environment for the mining industry.
\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\nStrong programming (PLC and SCADA), SQL Scripting skills.
\nStrong Database Administration skills (PI Historian).
\nWorking Conditions
\nPosition is located in a very remote location. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
\nSpecific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
\nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit at a desk for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand.
\nWork Environment: The noise level in the office work environment is minimal. Occasional exposure to noise, fumes, high temperature hazardous materials, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, vibration, slippery surfaces etc.
\nPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE): Work requires mandatory PPE such as helmet, goggles, high visible clothing, safety harness, ear plugs and dust mask according to working conditions.<\/p>\n
