{"id":4748,"date":"2011-07-28T00:24:15","date_gmt":"2011-07-28T00:24:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=4748"},"modified":"2016-11-17T09:51:39","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T09:51:39","slug":"undp-ghana-volunteer-jobs-2011-diaspora-project-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/undp-ghana-volunteer-jobs-2011-diaspora-project-assistant.html","title":{"rendered":"UNDP Ghana Volunteer Jobs 2011: Diaspora Project Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>UNV Assignment Title:<\/strong>\u00a0Diaspora Project Assistant<br \/>\n<strong>Type of Assignment:<\/strong>\u00a0National UNV Volunteer \/Yes\/<br \/>\n<strong>Project Title:<\/strong>\u00a0Linking the Ghanaian Diaspora to the Development of Ghana<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a0One year with possibility of extension<br \/>\n<strong>Location, Country:\u00a0<\/strong>Accra, Ghana<br \/>\n<strong>Expected Starting Date:<\/strong>\u00a0ASAP (1 August 2011)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brief Description:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The purpose of this project is to contribute to the efforts of the Government of Ghana (GoG) to mobilise the country&#8217;s diaspora toward its socio-economic development through dialogue and subsequent developmental engagements in Ghana.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The proposed project targets Ghanaian diaspora associations in the five countries with the highest concentrations of Ghanaian emigrants<\/li>\n<li>Specific interventions include: a)a profiling of Ghanaian diaspora groups in target countries; b) the holding of dialogue fora between the Government of Ghana and the diaspora; c) the establishment of a national Diaspora Support Unit; and d) the creation of a diaspora database and diaspora website. It is envisioned that this project will serve as a platform for facilitating the engagement of the country&#8217;s emigrants in sustainable development by the GoG<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Detailed Description of Assignment:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Hard Copies of Full Description of Assignment could be obtained on request at the UNDP security desk in Accra.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>University degree, preferably in Political or Social Science, International Relations or Law, or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Technical Competencies required:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project management experience (experience managing multi-country project an advantage)<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience liaising with government officials<\/li>\n<li>Ability in developing liaison with governmental national \/ international institutions and NGOs.
