Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Financial Controller\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Profile<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 The Financial Controller is the principal accounting officer for the company and provides guidance on technical accounting and compliance matters, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Financial Controller directs and manages the GMC reporting, project and exploration accounting, payroll treasury, tax and product exports accounting activities, ensuring that group and third-party stakeholder reporting requirements are delivered in an accurate, consistent and timely manager Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Manages the preparation of financial statements to meet Group reporting requirements in terms of deadlines and level of accuracy. \n\u2022 Provides strategic and tactical support in the development and execution of finance programmes and processes.
\n\u2022 Assets the CFO with the achievement of the company\u2019s short-term and long-term goals and objectives through the efficient and productive management of the finance function and by ensuring that senior management has timely, accurate and relevant data to make informed strategic decisions<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Establishes finance and accounting standards in compliance with Group policies (global standards) and procedures in the finance area and monitors the compliance with such standards and procedures
\n\u2022 Ensures efficient utilization of accounting systems such as SAP, ELLIPSE and Hyperion applications and other approved systems and manages any implementation, developments, configurations, enhancements and modifications
\n\u2022 Manage the annual external audit and quarterly reviews, ensuring the audit and reviews are carried out in an efficient and effective manner
\n\u2022 Attracts, develops and retains a highly effective team who provides guidance and expertise to the business
\n\u2022 Focuses on addressing inherent financial risks and related issues. Ensure the compliance with SOX, internal audit, External audit and accounting standards and
\n\u2022 Continually assesses the internal control framework to identify control weakness, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve the control environment.
\n\u2022 Directs the preparation of cost center annual and LOM budgets which rolls into the budget models and identifies opportunities for efficiency and cost savings
\n\u2022 Ensures tax compliance. Assists in developing tax planning strategies in conjunction with CFO<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Chartered Accountant equivalent designation required
\n\u2022 At least 15 years work experience, with a minimum of ten a in similar capacity
\n\u2022 Significant exposure to all accounting, tax and treasury functions
\n\u2022 5 years mining experience \u2013 experience for a multinational resource corporation
\n\u2022 Experience or exposure to accounting systems such as SAP, Hyperion and Ellipse
\n\u2022 Candidate must be a team player with strong leadership and communicate skills<\/p>\n
