Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title:\u00a0Consultant- Pipe Stress & Pressure Vessel Design<\/strong><\/p>\n Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n The work is varied and may include some or all the responsibilities mentioned below:<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Mechanical design and structural analysis of pressure vessels and piping systems.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Preparation of conceptual and detail design packages, including optioneering, design development, concept evaluation.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Design by rule scoping calculations including calculation of pressure thickness, nozzle reinforcement, etc.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Equipment sizing, selection (including material selection) and procurement.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Piping, pipe support and piping layout design.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Production of manufacturing packages, coordination with manufacturer\/contractor, review of vendor drawings\/documents.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Preparing conceptual and detailed equipment & piping layouts, piping isometrics.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Production of deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, detailed equipment specifications, pipe material specifications, system performance test specifications.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Design of pipe supports & spring supports, performing flexibility analysis.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Operational design support, failure investigations and condition assessment.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Liaising with all stakeholders and responsible for all technical issues related to their area of specialisation; Co-ordination with other discipline specialists where areas interface or overlap exist.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Witness pre-commissioning\/commissioning activities by the contractor\/vendor and produce\/review all relevant documentation.<\/p>\n Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n Candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Degree in Mechanical\/Chemical or relevant engineering.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Above 7 years of experience in Power, Oil & Gas Mining or other highly regulated industrial environment preferred.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Design experience in piping, pipe support and pipe layout.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience in mechanical design and assessment.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Proficiency in static, dynamic and thermal stress analysis.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Exposure to piping fabrication, installation, testing.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Demonstrable knowledge of design projects, or relevant experience\/knowledge of process plant operations is desirable.<\/p>\n \u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experienced with analysis software such as Abaqus, CAESAR II, Autopipe, Pipestress, Abaqus, STAAD or RSTAB.
