{"id":4862,"date":"2011-08-03T01:15:46","date_gmt":"2011-08-03T01:15:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=4862"},"modified":"2013-12-26T16:14:14","modified_gmt":"2013-12-26T16:14:14","slug":"renewable-energy-medior-advisor-jobs-in-ghana-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/renewable-energy-medior-advisor-jobs-in-ghana-2011.html","title":{"rendered":"Renewable Energy Medior Advisor Jobs in Ghana 2011"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Advisory Services<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Support clients\/group of clients in developing and implementing successful Renewable Energy dissemination programmes and projects;<\/li>\n<li>Support the operationalization of SNV Ghana strategy for Renewable Energy and translate it into continued support activities to a wide range of actors;<\/li>\n<li>Provide client focused quality capacity building advisory services to clients, partners and Local Capacity Builders (LCBs);<\/li>\n<li>Initiate and contributes to national activities within his\/her field of expertise;<\/li>\n<li>Support mainstreaming governance for empowerment, gender equity and social inclusion in the Renewable Energy sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learning &amp; Teamwork<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to sharing and learning among Renewable energy team: best practices, methods, tools, case-studies, etc.;<\/li>\n<li>Give input for the up-scaling of the team activities;<\/li>\n<li>Provide on-the-job support, coaching, technical backstopping and guidance to SNV advisors across all portfolios and LCBs on the above mentioned issues;<\/li>\n<li>Document results, including the process followed and the support supplied by SNV;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to promote external knowledge alliances with high level knowledge institutes and share the publication of SNV-knowledge to external public;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to product development: transform current advisory practice in marketable products and services and develop new relevant and meaningful products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Positioning\/networking\/resource mobilization<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide input for decision making in Renewable Energy practice area;<\/li>\n<li>Actively explore new markets \u2013 opportunities for resource mobilization \u2013 product &#8211; client combinations;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to build strategic alliances and partnerships which leads to creating income and employment opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>Support and promote collaboration between stakeholders in the sector especially at national level. Actively engage with stakeholders to further increase the priority of the sector on government\u2019s and donor\u2019s agendas;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to external resource mobilization and business development: identify opportunities and contribute to the formulation of project ideas and program proposals for SNV and clients;<\/li>\n<li>Represent SNV and its interests effectively in national, regional and local level forums as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Knowledge management \/ development<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure proper documentation of activities and achievements;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that best practices are systematized, documented and if possible published;<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to knowledge networks\/partnerships nationally within his\/her field of expertise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Educational background:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s degree in management of Renewable energy, with focus to: Finance in renewable energy, Business Analyst, Investments.<\/li>\n<li>Academic level of working and thinking in SNV related themes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of five years of working in business development preferably in Renewable energy context;<\/li>\n<li>Proven track record in capacity building, process facilitation and resource mobilization;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in micro and medium size enterprise development and insight into problems and constraints in stimulating partnerships;<\/li>\n<li>Ability and experience in analysing the socio- economic and political context of renewable energy;<\/li>\n<li>Experience in networking, alliances building, and facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes, product development, organisational learning, institutional change processes, and project proposal formulation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good knowledge of the renewable sector in Ghana;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Private Sector and SME<\/li>\n<li>Focuses (knowledge) on finance\/business analyst and business development + opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of national strategies for poverty alleviation, rural development;<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of SNV cross-cutting themes as good governance and gender equity;<\/li>\n<li>Intelligence tools as wel as business modelling;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of and experience with participatory monitoring and evaluation systems and with process documentation for future reference, organizational learning and decision making.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Very good writing and verbal communication skills;<\/li>\n<li>Opportunity driven, looks and sees the opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Client and team oriented attitude;<\/li>\n<li>Leadership, entrepreneurship and coaching and self-reflection skills;<\/li>\n<li>Proactive, creative and out-of-the-box thinking;<\/li>\n<li>Business attitude and want-to-learn attitude;<\/li>\n<li>Proven abilities and experience in team building and participatory techniques;<\/li>\n<li>Networking and negotiation abilities combined with result orientation;<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to work in different cultural settings and multi-cultural environment;<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to take initiatives independently and to have perseverance under adverse circumstances;<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility to work compatibly with national community based and non-government, government and private sector organizations;<\/li>\n<li>A strong flare for problem solving and evidence-based approaches to capacity development;<\/li>\n<li>Some knowledge of gender concepts;<\/li>\n<li>Readiness to work and travel in rural districts with minimal amenities;<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English (SNV\u2019s corporate language)and good command of French;<\/li>\n<li>Computer literacy in MS Office and Internet use;<\/li>\n<li>Driver\u2019s license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To apply for the above position, please forward your resume in Microsoft Word Format to:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:efenu@snvworld.org\"><strong>efenu@snvworld.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Closing:\u00a002 Sep, 2011<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Advisory Services Support clients\/group of clients in developing and implementing successful Renewable Energy dissemination programmes and projects;
