\n\u2022\u00a0To operate monitoring systems that evaluate risks associated with exposures to chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards
\nIn This Role You Will
\n\u2022\u00a0Coordinate the operation of the Akyem occupational hygiene (OH) program
\n\u2022\u00a0Develop and implement physical and chemical exposure monitoring and assessment studies
\n\u2022\u00a0Recommend mitigation programs to protect the health of Newmont employees
\n\u2022\u00a0Provide advice and assistance in the approach to resolving issues regarding hygiene and occupational health concerns
\n\u2022\u00a0Communicate new developments to the operation to increase the effectiveness of the monitoring programs and ensure staff are conversant with the latest techniques and regulations.
\n\u2022\u00a0Provide technical training and informational presentations to keep staff and management aware of Hygiene and Occupational Health concerns, programs and regulatory issues
\n\u2022\u00a0Compile summary statistics and reports based on conducted assessments and measurements
\n\u2022\u00a0Prepare OH reports for site, as directed by the H&S Manager<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0Bachelors\u2019 Degree in the Sciences or related field
\n\u2022\u00a0Advanced Certificate in Occupational Hygiene is preferable<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0Sound knowledge of Safety and Industrial Hygiene Legislative requirements
\n\u2022\u00a0Solid understanding of Safety Management Systems and Newmont Technical Standards related to Occupational Hygiene
\n\u2022\u00a0Foundational knowledge of risk management processes<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0Minimum of 3 \u2013 5 years\u2019 work experience as an Industrial Hygienist in a Mining and\/or Heavy industry environment<\/p>\n
\n\u2022\u00a0Incumbent may experience conflicting demands from manager and matrix reporting manager
