{"id":4949,"date":"2011-08-09T02:49:03","date_gmt":"2011-08-09T02:49:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/?p=4949"},"modified":"2013-12-27T11:21:49","modified_gmt":"2013-12-27T11:21:49","slug":"senior-project-accountant-job-opportunities-in-ghana-august-2011","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joblistghana.com\/senior-project-accountant-job-opportunities-in-ghana-august-2011.html","title":{"rendered":"Senior Project Accountant Job Opportunities in Ghana (August 2011)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Golden Star (Wassa) Limited, a subsidiary of Golden Star Resources (GSIR), with head office in Denver, USA, is a gold mining company situated at Akyempim in the Mpohor Wassa East District of the Western Region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em>The company is seeking to employ a suitable Ghanaian to fill the position below at the Project Department.<\/p>\n<p><\/em><strong>Job Purpose:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, the successful candidate shall ensure that spending on all major projects are done in accordance with Company Corporate control policies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties:<br \/>\n<\/strong>The successful candidate shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Review all spending on projects and ensure contractor\/supplier&#8217;s billing is in accordance with contract<\/li>\n<li>Review costs charged to each project and ensure costs allocated correctly<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a high level analysis of actual compared to budgeted performance and obtain explanations of variance from operational personnel<\/li>\n<li>Review CAPEX report for all Ghana Operational and make recommendations of areas\/departments that require further analysis<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and analyze monthly group capital expenditure report to identify potential cost explanations of variance from operational personnel<\/li>\n<li>Perform financial management analysis as requested by Group Business Operations Manager<\/li>\n<li>Attend Industry related meetings when required<\/li>\n<li>Review of tax computations and develop a Total Tax Contribution forecasting model<\/li>\n<li>Review Ghana operations budgets and forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Assist Head of Department with the analysis of contracts and estimate the potential cost implications of the contract<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong>\u00a0This is a Management position and goes with a very competitive salary package and other fringe benefits<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>A degree or diploma in accounting or business administration with knowledge in cost accounting and budgeting<\/li>\n<li>Professional qualification in CA, Ghana or its equivalent<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of tow (2) years experience in mining industry and a recognised accounting firm<\/li>\n<li>Self Starter and self motivated with a drive to achieve timely and quality results<\/li>\n<li>High level computer literacy with pronto ERP system is an added advantage<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Should be a team player and have the ability to work under intense pressure<\/li>\n<li>A holder of a valid Ghanaian Motor Vehicle driving license<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit their applications with CVs, photocopies of certificates and other relevant documents, through:<a href=\"mailto:wrecruitment@gsrgh.com\">wrecruitment@gsrgh.com<\/a>\u00a0or the addresses below:<\/p>\n<div>\n<strong>THE HR &amp; ADMINISTRATION MANAGER<br \/>\nGOLDEN STAR (WASSA) LIMITED<br \/>\nP.
