Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Title: College Internal Auditor<\/strong><\/p>\n Job Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n Per the Harmonised scheme of service, the college Internal Auditor is the Head of the College\u2019s Internal Audit Unit and should provide independent, objective and consulting services designed to add value and improve the college\u2019s operations and provide a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes of the college. \n\u2022 Vet all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and other statutory requirements
\n\u2022 Assess the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard losses
\n\u2022 Monitor and ensure that expenditures incurred should have been authorised ad are within budgetary provisions
\n\u2022 Liaise with the external auditors to ensure that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings
\n\u2022 Draw the attention of the Principal and the Finance Officer to deficiencies in the system with recommendations for remedies and discharge any other necessary in consultation with chairman of the college council<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Have a professional qualification
\n\u2022 Be a member of the institute of internal auditors
\n\u2022 Have served as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a College of Education or at a comparable grade in a similar institution\/organisation for at least 4 years
\n\u2022 Have strong intellect, be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary
\n\u2022 Have proven emotional stability and integrity
\n\u2022 Possess strong I.T skills and familiar with financial management framework
\n\u2022 Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills and
\n\u2022 Be able to complete at least one term of 4 years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of sixty
\n\u2022 Have good character and high degree of personal integrity<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), together with relevant supporting documents
\n\u2022 Reference letters from 3 referees
\n\u2022 A vision statement of not more than two pages relevant to the position applied for.<\/p>\n
